Pono Hair Salon — Attraction in Santa Clara

I have been going to this hair salon in Santa Clara for the past 2 years and I am extremely happy with the services I have received. The owner and stylist is highly professional and always goes above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied with my hair.

Not only is the stylist talented at what they do, they are also extremely friendly and make the experience enjoyable. The shop itself is beautifully decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere.

One of the things I appreciate about this salon is the convenient parking. It is always easy to find a spot and I never have to worry about being late for my appointment because I couldn't find a place to park.

The location of the salon is also easily accessible, making it convenient for me to stop by for a quick touch-up or for a full styling session.

Edit: I changed my rating from 5 to 3 stars. Chole doesn't work there anymore. The new hairdresser is welcoming and friendly and my hair cut came out okay but once I came back home I noticed that one side is shorter than the other. Also the layers are not as smooth as I would've had hoped them to be (we see clearly the first and second layer). Unfortunately, the place was also smelly when I entered. The smell was less bad a couple of minutes later, could be because I got used to it. I guess I'll be looking for a new hairdresser for my next haircut. I am sorry for this review, it was just my experience.

I came in for a men’s haircut but unfortunately, this was not the experience I was hoping for. My appointment wasn’t with Jun, who is highly recommended, but with the other stylist. The haircut felt rushed and left me with the impression that I wasn’t really welcome, almost as if she didn’t want me there but couldn’t turn me away.

The result was disappointing, though not entirely surprising given the rushed process. There was excessive use of thinning scissors, which left my hair uneven and inconsistent in length. Some areas were noticeably longer than others, making the overall cut look messy and unpolished.

I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because I’m not Japanese that I was treated this way. Regardless of the reason, I left feeling unwelcome and dissatisfied. Perhaps Jun would provide a better experience based on other reviews, but I can’t recommend this stylist for anyone seeking quality or...
