Montana Nails - Santa Monica — Attraction in Santa Monica

I had a terrible experience at Montana Nails yesterday. I went in for a gel manicure, which I’ve had many times before, but I’ve never seen anything like this in my entire life. The technician trimmed all of my nails way too deeply and filed them so narrow that they look and feel completely unnatural. She ruined both of my thumbnails, and on one of them, she actually removed a piece of my skin. I’m honestly scared that area may not heal properly. She filed my thumbnail too narrow that I can see my skin under my nails now. I’m planning to see a doctor to make sure I don’t get an infection. When I told them what happened, the manager came over and apologized. But instead of taking full responsibility, they tried to just give discount instead of the original payment of $120 for the manicure, even though they had just caused visible damage. They eventually didn’t charge me for the manicure—but they still charged me $75 for the pedicure, which was shocking given the harm they caused. I left the salon feeling distressed and completely disappointed. This was not just a bad manicure, it was painful, damaging, and handled unprofessionally. I do not recommend this...

I originally gave this place a 5 star review and based off the photos you’re going to see that I will attach it is now one star. They promised me they could do Foote nails for a specific photo shoot I’m doing and I showed them an example. They told me OK.

They put the nails on (this is the second time I came there, and my Coachella nails were decent so I thought why not go back, sure….) within 48 hours every single rhinestone had fallen off.

When I called them to let them know what had happened they sneered at me and said, “I thought you love our Nail Salon. Why are you coming back so fast what’s wrong with the nails?”

I showed them a photo and they admitted that they couldn’t do the nailsncorrected and they had to fix them. I asked them to please just give me a classic French nail and then I left….

When I came back to GIVE MY OWN FREE TIME To fix their mistake that they took three hours on two days prior…They gave me the absolute worst energy. As if I was inconveniencing THEM… Sweetheart, if you can’t do a specific time, just say so. Don’t promise me something you can’t do. They don’t have a skill set to do basic gem nails here...

Every time I come here my experience is 10/10. I have been to all the best rated nail salons in the Santa Monica area (including the Russian ones) and Montana Nails is the best by far. Everything is new, clean, and super aesthetic. And all the staff are super friendly and accommodating every time.

Linda always does my gel builder manicure and she is truly the best! I am very particular about what I like - I require it to be very natural with a stiletto shape. She’s always consistent and really pays attention to detail to make sure I get exactly what I want.

Joe did my gel pedicure and he was also amazing! He really took his time when cleaning out my ingrown nails and it turned out to be the best pedicure I’ve ever had.
