My husband and I visited Scoops Creamery in Santa Monica 🌴☀️, excited to enjoy some ice cream 🍨 after a long walk 🚶♀️. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing 😔 — not because of the product itself (which tasted great 😋), but because of the service and overall attitude from the staff 🙄.
Negatives ❌: • Unfriendly service 😒🙅♂️ – The man taking our order acted as if we were bothering him 🤷♀️, with a dismissive attitude from start to finish. Instead of explaining the menu 📜 or helping us understand the options 🤔, he seemed irritated and impatient 😤. My husband even made a light, sarcastic comment — “Sorry we’re tourists and don’t know how to order” — but the cashier didn’t react at all 😶. It felt like he either didn’t care or was having a really bad day. • Lack of guidance 🗣️🚫 – I ordered two scoops in a cone 🍦 , but no one told me the scoops wouldn’t fit. When they handed it to me, the ice cream immediately started melting and breaking apart 🍦💧, dripping all over my hands ✋, pants 👖and my shirt 👚 . • Poor problem handling 🆘 – I had to shout, “Please, give me a cup! It’s going to fall!” 📢 A young girl finally brought one, but by then it was already a mess. The staff could see from the start that it wouldn’t fit — they could have offered a larger cup 🥤 or suggested paying extra 💵 for a better option. • Messy aftermath 🧼🫧 – We ended up standing there trying to eat quickly 😅, while it dripped everywhere. Later, we had to wash our hands thoroughly 🧴 and even wash our clothes 🧺 because they were covered in ice cream.
Positives ✅: • Taste 😋🍦 – The ice cream itself was delicious, creamy, and flavorful. If only the service matched the quality of the product.
Overall impression 📝: The careless attitude and lack of basic customer service completely ruined what could have been a great moment 💔. We were polite and respectful 🙏, but received indifference in return. It’s disappointing to see this kind of service in a place with such potential 🌟.
Recommendations 💡: Train staff in customer service 🤝 – A warm welcome and willingness to help go a long way. Guide customers through the ordering process 🗣️ – Especially if the menu isn’t self-explanatory. Anticipate problems and offer solutions proactively 🧠 – For example, if scoops won’t fit, suggest a larger cup or cone before handing it over. Maintain professionalism 👔 – Even if it’s a tough day, guests shouldn’t feel like they’re an inconvenience.
Delicious ice cream deserves equally good service 🍦✨ — and unfortunately, that wasn’t the case...
Read moreFor a place that’s consistently visited by tourists from all over the world, you’d hope they’d want to impress the people spending their money in this business and attempt to keep it clean, but it’s VERY average and quite disgustingly dirty. For my personal opinion, it’s not somewhere I’d go out of my way to stop. The worse part about this place is the employees who actually do the work and deal with customers with personalities in every category aren’t allowed to keep the tips given by customers! Management distributes the tips amongst themselves, my advice: if you want to waste money on a overpriced grocery store ice cream with rodent feces on your toppings, enjoy! 😉 other than that, I do not recommend this place because of its unfairness to employees and cleanliness of...
Read moreTypical ice cream shop with cones, cups, and usual flavors + toppings offered. What makes this place great is the scenery of the Ferris wheel and being able to overlook the pier. Prices are fair, but again nothing really extraordinary here; a chocolate sundae isn’t even offered on the menu.
They should have more seating options with pier-themed decor and make the menu more lavish. It’s a pier people visit who come from all over the world! It should feel fun and lively, but that’s all in the surrounding at the arcade and rides. Convenient for a quick treat, but...
