My husband and I visited Scoops Creamery in Santa Monica đ´âď¸, excited to enjoy some ice cream đ¨ after a long walk đśââď¸. Unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing đ â not because of the product itself (which tasted great đ), but because of the service and overall attitude from the staff đ.
Negatives â: ⢠Unfriendly service đđ ââď¸ â The man taking our order acted as if we were bothering him đ¤ˇââď¸, with a dismissive attitude from start to finish. Instead of explaining the menu đ or helping us understand the options đ¤, he seemed irritated and impatient đ¤. My husband even made a light, sarcastic comment â âSorry weâre tourists and donât know how to orderâ â but the cashier didnât react at all đś. It felt like he either didnât care or was having a really bad day. ⢠Lack of guidance đŁď¸đŤ â I ordered two scoops in a cone đŚ , but no one told me the scoops wouldnât fit. When they handed it to me, the ice cream immediately started melting and breaking apart đŚđ§, dripping all over my hands â, pants đand my shirt đ . ⢠Poor problem handling đ â I had to shout, âPlease, give me a cup! Itâs going to fall!â đ˘ A young girl finally brought one, but by then it was already a mess. The staff could see from the start that it wouldnât fit â they could have offered a larger cup 𼤠or suggested paying extra đľ for a better option. ⢠Messy aftermath đ§źđŤ§ â We ended up standing there trying to eat quickly đ , while it dripped everywhere. Later, we had to wash our hands thoroughly 𧴠and even wash our clothes 𧺠because they were covered in ice cream.
Positives â : ⢠Taste đđŚ â The ice cream itself was delicious, creamy, and flavorful. If only the service matched the quality of the product.
Overall impression đ: The careless attitude and lack of basic customer service completely ruined what could have been a great moment đ. We were polite and respectful đ, but received indifference in return. Itâs disappointing to see this kind of service in a place with such potential đ.
Recommendations đĄ: Train staff in customer service đ¤ â A warm welcome and willingness to help go a long way. Guide customers through the ordering process đŁď¸ â Especially if the menu isnât self-explanatory. Anticipate problems and offer solutions proactively đ§ â For example, if scoops wonât fit, suggest a larger cup or cone before handing it over. Maintain professionalism đ â Even if itâs a tough day, guests shouldnât feel like theyâre an inconvenience.
Delicious ice cream deserves equally good service đŚâ¨ â and unfortunately, that wasnât the case...
Read moreFor a place thatâs consistently visited by tourists from all over the world, youâd hope theyâd want to impress the people spending their money in this business and attempt to keep it clean, but itâs VERY average and quite disgustingly dirty. For my personal opinion, itâs not somewhere Iâd go out of my way to stop. The worse part about this place is the employees who actually do the work and deal with customers with personalities in every category arenât allowed to keep the tips given by customers! Management distributes the tips amongst themselves, my advice: if you want to waste money on a overpriced grocery store ice cream with rodent feces on your toppings, enjoy! đ other than that, I do not recommend this place because of its unfairness to employees and cleanliness of...
Read moreTypical ice cream shop with cones, cups, and usual flavors + toppings offered. What makes this place great is the scenery of the Ferris wheel and being able to overlook the pier. Prices are fair, but again nothing really extraordinary here; a chocolate sundae isnât even offered on the menu.
They should have more seating options with pier-themed decor and make the menu more lavish. Itâs a pier people visit who come from all over the world! It should feel fun and lively, but thatâs all in the surrounding at the arcade and rides. Convenient for a quick treat, but...
