Savannah Children's Theatre — Attraction in Savannah

SCT has been a part of my family for years now! My younger cousin was a camper and performer in a ton of shows, his mom, my aunt worked on set design and the window displays and costuming and also had a few roles in the mainstage shows. I worked stagehand for Peter Pan, and now my daughter is an active participant in the summer camps. We LOVE SCT and everyone involved. Director Jenn Doubletree is superwoman. What these kids are able to accomplish in such a short amount of time is astonishing. Theater/dance is such an enriching activity, teaching discipline and responsibility, physical fitness, and building confidence. These kids go from not remembering what they had for breakfast to memorizing lines and choreography for a 2 hour performance. This is an amazing place. All of the staff are incredible, the classes teach you everything you need to know and the costumes/set design is awesome. I’ve been going here since I was seven. Sometimes the tickets can be pricey but if you go to one of the winter shows like Rudolph or Charlie Brown there’s a hot chocolate bar. I love how they have show themed merchandise as well for the main stages and non class/summer camp productions. I highly recommend it’s a great place to introduce your child to the theatre.

This is such a great place for the community. We attended a play (Frozen) where our neighbors granddaughter was in the play. The production was very good, much better than I had ever expected. They put it together with a bunch of kids in 2 weeks! Amazing! Great lighting, affordable snacks and lots of fun supporting the local kids. You can’t go wrong visiting and supporting this...
