I recently had a terrible experience at this Banner Health Urgent Care. I brought my two sons there for treatment, but I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and even angry.
First of all, the staff seemed to be more concerned about making money than actually helping patients. They rushed through the examination and seemed to care more about getting us in and out quickly than actually addressing our medical concerns.
To make matters worse, the staff at this urgent care clinic were completely incompetent with their jobs. My sons had been on antibiotics for three days, but one of them was having an allergic reaction. When I brought this to the attention of the nurse practitioner, Monica Jeffers, she was unable to "see the infection" and refused to switch his antibiotics. This put my son at risk of becoming antibiotic resistant, which is a serious health concern. It was clear that NP Jeffers lacked the necessary knowledge and expertise to properly care for my son.
To add insult to injury, my other son needed his last dose of injections to prevent him from becoming antibiotic resistant over the weekend. However, NP Jeffers also couldn't see the infection and refused to provide the necessary service. Mind you, we weren't in for a diagnosis, we already had diagnoses from our primary care provider and were instructed to go to urgent care over the weekend to address these issues quickly before Monday. It was incredibly frustrating to see my son's health put at risk simply because of the incompetence of the staff at this urgent care clinic.
Despite this negative experience at Banner Health Urgent Care, we visited Phoenix Children's Scottsdale Urgent Care right after and the doctor was able to see and properly diagnose that my son still in fact had an ear infection. This goes to show the clear difference in expertise and care between urgent care clinics.
Overall, my experience at Banner Health Urgent Care was extremely negative, and I strongly recommend that anyone looking for medical care avoid this clinic...
Read moreThis used to be my go to place whenever I was sick or had an a health issue, but the receptionist Lori has made this place an awful experience, my first issue with her was when I crushed my finger really bad to the point it looked mangled and would not stop bleeding for days, after the emergency room it would still bleed out of my bandages so I went to this location to help bandage me back up, I was not even conversing with her but she went out of her way to talk to me and look at my finger, she then laughed at me when I asked the nurse practitioner if my finger would heal and my nail grow back and said “no chance it would”, I did not ask her for her opinion but she went out of her way to say this to me, the next time I come in my finger was still bleeding a lot and was pulsating so I needed to get bandaged again but she turned me away saying on the lines of “ we can’t keep bandaging you, do it yourself”. I talked to management and they said they will deal with it so I came in today over 8 months later to get std tested to be safe and again she was rude, didn’t even look at my insurance and told me that she will charge 700 dollars for the test while not even checking my insurance, this place is great except for this women she is extremely unprofessional and it seems cruel to act this way to people especially in the medical profession, I called another location to see if this was appropriate behavior and they said it was unacceptable to turn away people in this manner. it is really disappointing to see the clinic I have going to for years has this person working there and I will go to other locations until this receptionist Lori is not there anymore. By the way my finger did heal almost completely further compounding her unprofessional behavior because one she is not a doctor and should not be giving medical diagnosis or analysis and she wasn’t even correct saying it would never heal this women is really a bad representation of people who work hard and do good...
Read moreI did call the corporate office before writing this review to report my complaint and dissatisfaction about the way my child was treated at this facility. Because of Banner's Corporate office indifference towards my report is that I have decided to publish this review in order to help others seeking the kind of medical care that fulfills the most sublime mission of protecting and caring for human life.
Over six month ago I took my child in a rush to Banner Urgent Care for a severe congestion, vomiting. My child was seeing by Dr Stephanie Geiger NP she checked the ears and mouth and her comment was: keep giving your child fluid as she was leaving the room I reminded to her that my child has difficulties to breathe and needed medication for a severe congestion.
We waited in the room for about twenty minutes in the meantime my child vomited I left the room I reported at the reception what was happening a nurse offer a plastic bucket as he cleaned up the floor I saw Dr Stephanie Geiger seating in the reception in front of the computer distant and disengaged googling for answers. I went back to the room I picked up my child I told Dr Geiger and Nurse that I was leaving as I did, they both looked in disbelieve.
An hour later I received a telephone voice message from that facility wanting to talk to me about what happened I was too concern about my son's situation to respond to that call I was on my way to Phoenix Children Hospital.
This is a clear example what corporate medicine is doing to this country. Corporations are not human beings. Unqualified, untalented doctors hired to accomplish their main objective mediocre health care for profit.
I do not enjoy doing this. I am not a dysfunctional godless person who is projecting onto others my human misery. I am a parent who cares and by telling the truth will empower the good people out there to seek excellent and compassionate medical care because is a human right not a privilege...
