I can no longer recommend Herbal Nails after my July 11, 2018 visit. Very rude employees talking about me and my reviews (on Yelp). Brian, who I normally see for SNS manicures, was on vacation, so I had someone else do the SNS mani and pedi polish change- mani was alright, but pedi was very disappointing. Find me on Yelp if you'd like more details. Good luck if you do decide to give Herbal Nails a try! Perhaps management will correct rude behavior of staff. Updating with reviews of yesterday's and today's visits. If I posted my review yesterday, I would've rated ONE star. After today's correction, I'll keep it at 4 stars (3.5 stars, rounding up). As of 11:18 am today, I wasn't even sure I wanted to return for the correction. Am glad things turned out OK- thanks to manager Rinal and Brian! 2/21 & 2/22
1 star of work done by Tom. Would've given 2 stars after the sloppy work and one nipper wound, since I voiced that I needed to leave after session was over to make it to my next appointment with a few minutes to spare. Tom insisted on doing a quick color change (another coat on top of the two colors used- in an effort to match the original color I wanted, of which they were out of- plus the pearl coats, and he'd be finished in 10 minutes. It took more than 10 minutes, and during the quick patch, Tom managed to wound me a second time. Not only were the results horrible, with two wounds instead of one, because of his insistence in keeping me at the salon longer, I was now late 15 minutes for my massage appointment! I was so flustered that it took even more minutes to de-stress at the massage table. Oh, and I had to pay for those 15 massage minutes lost!
Suffice to say, I was LIVID. Oh, but why did I tip Tom $8?? Why, indeed??
I called up HN and asked to speak with the manager on my drive to my next appointment. Rinal allowed me to speak about my concerns, asked a few clarifying questions, and later assured me I could either get a color change as per 7-day guarantee policy, or my money back. I asked if I could have Brian do the correction, and she said yes.
Rinal was gracious enough to secure a jar of #245 from another salon between yesterday's fiasco and today so that I would be able to get my original color choice! Certainly wasn't expecting this, so kudos for the extra effort in lessening the inconvenience of having to return (and spending hours out of my two days' off from work)!
So, take a look at the photos included here and choose well on who to have working on your hands. I acquired two wounds, spent needlessly on gratuity, and lost precious minutes of massage bliss to know which tech never...
Read moreI had a pedicure appointment on 8/9/25 at 12 PM with my friend, who had booked a mani/pedi for the same time. We scheduled a week in advance, and I told her I didn’t want to sit around waiting while she got her nails done. She assured me she spoke to the manager, and they said they’d do her nails and toes at the same time so we could be together.
Fast forward to today: we walk in, and she gets seated for her nails only. I said, “I thought we were doing nails and toes at the same time?” She told me they’d made a scheduling mistake and were waiting on another tech. Fine. I figured I’d just wait — but at least wait comfortably.
So I asked the manager, Nathan (who was mid-pedicure with another client), “Hi, while I wait, can I sit in one of these massage chairs?” At first, he ignored me. Then he turned, gave me a dirty look, glanced at the row of empty chairs, aggressively snatched nail tools from the chair beside him, stomped to the front, slammed them onto a table, and threw his hands out in this exaggerated, sarcastic “here’s your chair” gesture — all without saying a word.
It wasn’t just me who noticed — the client he was working on gave me a “what the heck?” look, and even some staff looked shocked. The whole thing was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. I whispered to my friend, “Sorry, I’m leaving — this guy just made me super uncomfortable,” and walked right out.
I get that everyone has bad days, but there’s no excuse for taking it out on customers — especially ones who booked in advance and were simply asking to sit in an empty chair. So, no — you won’t be getting my business again. #Bye
P.S. We may be in AZ, but blasting country music while people are trying to relax and enjoy their salon service?...
Read morehave been going to herbal nails for about 3 years. I started off at this location with my mother. every time I have gotten SNS manicure's here at least 2 or 3 break within the first week of having them on. They tried adding an extra layer to see if that helped it did not. After about 6 months there was a second location opened on 1-17 and Happy Valley closer to my home at the time. I started going there...they were about $8 dollars cheaper, customer service was better, and my nails stopped breaking! I recently moved back to Scottsdale and came back to this location to give them a second try. After my first manicure back, 6 nails broke within 9 days. I came back on day 7 (the warranty time period) they said I didn't have an appointment and turned me away to come back Friday they would still fix them for me...I didn't need to schedule an appointment. I came back Friday after work...a lady told me she couldn't get me in I offered to come back in an hour she said OK I told her I was not willing to pay because I was turned away on wednesday (day 7) and she said ok. I came back an hour later to the same lady saying she only stands behind the product for 7 days and I will have to pay to fix the 6 nails that were broken. I asked to speak to a manger that was the manager.
I love SNS manicures, I love herbal nails. However, the Scottsdale location has proved to show poor customer service, they don't stand behind their product what so ever, and they are always running behind and over booking clients.
I am hoping many others don't or haven't had my experience but if you are hard on your nails do not go to this location because they will not fix your nails if you break them and they charge more and do their manicures too quickly with...
