On the northeast corner of Be’er Shiva Park sets a hidden gem - a Seattle Tilth Urban Farm and Community Garden. Much of the produce from the garden is donated to the community farmer’s market. But a corner of it is set aside as a U-pick garden for its community citizens. No charge to the public. I visit a couple times a year to look for experimental plants and unusual ingredients I am willing to try. There seems to always be kale, collard greens and tomatoes during peak season. Recently I was able to talk my 6’5” nephew to help me pick blueberries from the top limbs. Thank you Mikie!

We stopped by this park driving by. It is a clean park with a patrol car that would drive by a couple of times we were there. There is parking on the street, and picnic tables available are scattered around the various areas. A public restroom and no homeless camps or the public weed smoking that Seattle has gotten used to seeing as the natural landscape. It was a pleasant find! Midas 5-stars for the cleaniness and availability of restrooms and tables.

Great park for toddlers and up! Swings, slides, climbers, sidewalk for bikes, picnic tables, covered area, basketball court - pretty much has it all!

Be’er Shiva Park, once a gem of Seattle’s outdoor spaces, is now overshadowed by a troubling lack of care and respect. What was once a space of promise and beauty has been marred by cowardly acts of vandalism. The stunning mural that once greeted visitors has been defaced with graffiti, reducing a piece of public art to an eyesore. To make matters worse, debris and neglect now further tarnish the park’s appearance, leaving those of us who once admired it feeling deeply disappointed. Where is the swift action from the city to address this? If this park were in another part of Seattle, would it have received more immediate attention? It’s hard not to feel that the community here has been forgotten. At the opening of the park, the mayor and other officials were present, making bold promises and celebrating their achievement. But where are they now? Where is their influence, their commitment to preserving what was created? It’s shameful that such a beautiful space, meant to unite and uplift the community, is allowed to languish like this. Seattle deserves better, and so does Be’er Shiva Park. It’s time for our leaders to step up, honor their commitments, and restore this space to its former glory. Until then, I’m left feeling disheartened and,...

I find it hard to rate a park anything less than 5 stars. There’s not really anything a park can do to lose stars, and let’s face it - we need more parks so rating them highly and often is important to show that they are valued. Having said that…

When I visited this park today, the major negative was the pathetic conditions people had left behind when they moved on: Trash everywhere, discarded food (including lots of chicken bones I noticed in two different areas, both of which my dog found and could have choked on. And they were not tossed back into the woods - just right out on the grass). Granted it’s the first nice, warm day of the year so more people than normal visited the park but it’s just disgusting that people have so little respect for each other.

Long story short, nice park but I won’t go back because I don’t want my dog to choke on other...

this should be a great park, but it is an example of how the immediate area residents are somewhat allowing the place to be pulled down by undesirable activity by staying away. If you stay out of the boat launch/park parking area you will avoid most of the bad stuff. Another truly unfortunate thing about here is, although having a great waterfront with views/wildlife etc. you cannot safely swim since there is no separate area from the boat launch/marina, there also is signs about sewage outflow after storms and the fuel/oil that comes from the marina. Maybe if enough people started taking this place back it would become what it should be, a gem along south...
