I hired FCI Seattle Shoreline to fill in gaps and refinish my white oak floors in a guest room following some renovations. They did a very sloppy job and took many shortcuts to complete the job. When Mark came over to give me a quote, he told me they could "feather in" the new planks and put in a new transition strip (singular) to fill in the gaps along the door frame. For the transition area, his construction crew expanded the transition area and put in multiple non-matching planks pieced together with excessive and unsightly wood filler, which is not what was agreed to in our quote. Instead of feathering in the planks, the crew initially put in a single perpendicular strip to fill in the gaps along the back closet wall. After complaining, they re-did this area and feathered in the planks as initially quoted. However, again, they were very sloppy and used excessive wood filler. They were also very sloppy with staining, leaving blotchy areas along every corner and scratches in the stain (before I even stepped foot on my own floors). Other guys I've had waited 24 hours in-between coats; these guys slept in their car for 2 hours in between coats to try to finish up the job in a day. Floor Coverings International of Seattle (FCI) installed engineered hardwood to my house, specifically white oak seven-inch planks. I had outdated laminate on he first floor and carpet on the second floor. I wanted a high-quality, uniform wood-look throughout. In a nutshell, FCI did a fantastic job - incredible!! I had gotten other quotes and others said it would take two weeks. FCI did it in one. The FCI crew was very professional and it shows in their work overall and in the details (i.e., seamless wood to tile transitions, vents cut from the flooring material, etc.) . They took great care to lay out the planks to best feature the color and grain variations. It changed the entire look of the house. What a difference! I recommend FCI to others. I am a completely satisfied customer! My carpet is a delightful improvement to the look and feel of my house. Although I’m sure the showroom is great, it was so easy to have Mark and Vitaly come in the mobile showroom. I was able to see samples in my own space, make my selection and have the estimate provided immediately. Saved me tons of time. I was also able to arrange with Vitaly to have my walls painted before carpet installation which was an unexpected bonus.

The whole process from ordering to painting to installation was easy. Marc (painter) and Javier and his crew (carpet installation) were conscientious, detail-oriented and worked hard to complete the job on time. The quality of all the work is excellent!
