This park surrounds the Northwest African American Museum. There's a colorful pavilion in the center of the lawn off the entrance to the museum, which has a limited wall display about Hendrix inside. I enjoyed an outdoor mural of Jimi, which announced a butterfly garden in his honor. I've seen a lot of people bike and walk their dogs here, making it a great option to meet new people and take in some art as well.
The only thing here is that the graffiti isn't taken care of on a regular basis. Or, it isn't a priority. Racial slurs and negative words all over now...makes it harder to take in the beauty of the area, when it's defaced.
Overall, still a beautiful place to have company or a meal alone. Safe, and...
