Another urban dog oasis! While this off leash park is not as expansive as Magnuson, it is well kept with clean grounds, ample gravel, poop bags, a water spicket to fill buckets for dogs to drink from, and has a fun outer loop at the back perimeter of the main area that owners and dogs alike can hike/run through. Benches and chairs that have been donated are scattered around the park to offer humans some time off their feet to chat with other dog owners and care givers while having clear views of the activities of the pups. Some very cool artistic installments around and historical and educational placards located in one of the terraces of the park offer insight into the park serving as a water runoff basin for the area and how the structures in place in the park serve that function. Funky and interesting for the humans and lots of fun space for the fur babies to get...
Read moreThis park is built in a basin with a good flat area covered in gravel with plenty of room for running and chasing surrounded by steep hills all the way around that have a good trail around the brim with multiple trails leading down to the floor. There is good underbrush and trees for the dogs to snuffle through as well. There are also a lot of interesting sculptures scattered about.
The park has poo bags available and water for dogs. There are some benches for humans.
The big downside is that when it is rainy you get big muddy puddles in the basin area. Though to be honest the dogs don't seem to mind it very much. Come prepared with a towel if it is raining or has been raining recently and you...
Read moreThis was a great solution by the city of Seattle to get some use out of a space that needs to remain green. The park captures a lot of rain run off for this area, and basically acts like a giant French drain. It's often wet and muddy here, but those are two things most dogs love. It's a quieter dog park that isn't as plagued by the giant mad roving packs of dogs brought by barely aware or present dog walkers to some of the city's parks (Looking at you Westcrest). Don't wear nice clothes and bring some water for your pup in the winter as the city shuts off the water. There isn't a dedicated small or shy dog area at this park, it is a ball dog's ideal...
