Oh Yeah Banh Mi – International District, Seattle
As a neighbor, I had to check out Oh Yeah Banh Mi, and I’m so glad I did. Owner Kim welcomed me with genuine hospitality, offering samples and sharing her passion for the menu. 🌸
🥪 Banh Mi: I tried the lemongrass beef banh mi. The bread was crisp, the herbs were fresh, and the flavor balanced nicely. Personally, I wished for a stronger lemongrass kick and more sauce to elevate the beef, but overall it was satisfying and light. If you like bold, saucy sandwiches, ask for extras.
🍋 Tea: The fermented lemon ginger tea was unlike anything I’ve had. Instead of tasting medicinal, it had a sweet, almost sugar-like finish—unexpected but not my thing.
☕ The MVP – Vietnamese Coffee: The star here is without question the Vietnamese iced coffee. Bold, creamy, smooth, and unforgettable—it’s the kind of drink that explains why Vietnamese coffee is a cultural staple. One sip and you’ll understand why it’s the talk of the neighborhood.
🌿 Atmosphere: From lotus murals to orchids and a sunlit dining area, the space feels vibrant yet relaxed—perfect for a coffee stop or casual lunch.
✨ Final Take: This is where Seattle foodies should come for standout Vietnamese coffee, a fresh take on banh mi, and a warm welcome from a local business rooted in the International District.

Read moreI've finally visited Oh Yeah Banh Mi, and it did not disappoint! I tried the grilled pork banh mi and the chicken banh mi, and both were packed with flavor. The baguette was perfectly crisp on the outside yet soft inside, and the fillings—daikon, cilantro, carrot, cucumber, and just the right amount of mayo—were fresh and well-balanced.
The salted cream cheese Vietnamese coffee was a standout for me. The saltiness was perfectly balanced with the strong, rich coffee, creating a flavor combination that I can’t stop thinking about.
The shop is small and cozy, ideal for takeout or a quick lunch, but the friendliness of the staff made the whole experience even better. The place is clean, welcoming, and the service was warm and attentive.
Overall, Oh Yeah Banh Mi has quickly become one of my favorite spots for banh mi and Vietnamese drinks. The sandwiches are solid, but the coffee and attention to flavor are what make it truly memorable. I’ll definitely be...

When you first walk to the door you can already tell how authentic the food is gonna be, the atmosphere says it’s all, that the foods gonna be good no matter what.
I also love how they grow chili peppers as their store plants.
The house special banh mi is probably the best I’ve eaten so far in Seattle for the price point.
The bread tastes fresh, airy, buttery. It pairs well with the condiments, and fillings you get in the sandwich. Very proportional. The flavors and the ratio is spot on. Not too much not too overwhelming.
The owners and workers there genuinely share their personal favorites if it’s your first time there, you’ll be taken care of
I have never been asked how I like my banh mi toasted, that to me deserves another star for service.
