Terrible bad service .. and I called on the phone to ask you a question about an item. As I begin to speak, the phone hung up. I immediately called back to continue the conversation. The cashier was very abrupt with me, I asked the question again, and instead of it hanging up, I could not hear what his response was? I asked him “sir, I’m so sorry there must be a phone malfunction “? he blurted in frustration and abruptly hung up the phone. A few minutes later, I arrived at the store to get my item. I noticed that the staff was being rude to me. When I confronted them at checkout, they were both very rude. We had a confrontation, and I told them that I had just called. The cashier told me “you hung up on me “. The manager reiterated that she witnessed the call. Then she told me that the store had had many problems with their phone in the past. It was not my fault that the phone hung up the first time and when he got frustrated thinking I was out of line. He hung up on me. ? It was extremely unprofessional for him to say that to me not knowing that they’re phone service was malfunctioning as previously stated by the manager. When I left the store , a woman came up to me in the parking lot and said “excuse me, I overheard the entire conversation before you arrived in the store, they were conspiring and chatting about you hanging up on them “she lamented that she witnessed how rude they were being to me, and that she thought they were out of line “? When both of them ganged up on me at the checkout. They insisted that I was rude previously on the phone. The only thing I had said in the entire interaction was “I’m sorry the phone hung up and I’m having a hard time hearing with the connection. Could you repeat that “? originally he had hung up on me and then tried to gaslight me and turn it into something I had done wrong? It was the most blatantly rude customer service I’ve ever witnessed. The woman in the parking lot reiterated my frustration. I see online that the cashiers get $10 an hour. He was obviously in his early 20s and hasn’t dealt with customer service. The manager backing them up was also very young. They need to learn how to be more polite and more professional. The sad part is, they will not be reprimanded and they’re giving the store. A bad name Their story will be gaslit and I’ll just get a slap on the wrist. But it was something you don’t do in customer service Nothing will happen to them because they were supporting each other. Please don’t go to this store. Btw, when I was looking for my item there was six employees that were stocking items, and when I asked a few of them if they could help me each one of them were extremely...
Read moreI have never seen a better stocked Michael's in my life. There were so many amazing things there tonight, not messy at all, not picked through or disorganized, multiple kind employees ,even one sweet girl who went and got me a basket!
When I couldn't find the thing I was looking for in the area where I assumed it was, a wonderful employee named Troy helped me out, and directed me to another aisle that had the item. If you ever have the pleasure to interact with this employee Troy, you will meet someone who is willing to go above and beyond, the consummate guide and team member. When I say above and beyond, I mean he literally walked past me when I was in an unrelated aisle, getting distracted, (I had deviated from the path he directed me on), and he stopped and popped his head in just to check and make sure I was doing okay! Troy to the rescue! This time he had his coat on & obviously he was on his way out! But still he found the time just to read the room and see that I needed him!
His kindness tonight helped me to be able to find everything that I needed.
Coming from someone who works in a forward facing customer service position, I know well that having someone provide this kind of experience for you when you are there late at night, and by yourself, let's just say there's no real way to measure the immense value of that. A huge relief.
If management is reading this, I hope you show Troy the appreciation he deserves, both in pay and in and verbal/print recognition. ( You're Michaels! Can't you craft him some kind of etched glass trophy or something?) This person is a natural, a 💎! Troy could possibly be the best employee that any Michaels, anywhere, has ever had.
He could probably run all of the Michaels, nationally one day, with his intuitive nature, his enthusiasm, his wealth and breadth of knowledge about the products, the locations of things and how they all work together.
It is my opinion that you should put him on the trajectory to corporate immediately before someone walks into that store , makes him an offer he can't refuse, and poaches him right out of there.
Thank you for a great shopping experience tonight Michaels. I will...
Read moreThis store has everything craftworthy. Gorgeous beads made of natural minerals are already strung on a cord so you don’t have to waste your time examine each bead you’re going to pick out of a bin. They have metal stamping supplies, shadow boxes of all sizes, reasonably priced mattes and framing, seasonal decor and seasonal craft decor, and even a respectable supply of washi tape. Every time I think the washi tape market has bottomed out, it keeps ROARING back! Albeit at a slightly smaller impact each time. My goal is always to pay no more than one dollar per roll of washi tape, and that is certainly doable here at Michael’s on Interbay. The store also offers FREE craft course almost every weekend. I can’t remember if these are on Saturdays or Sundays. You better check the store. They have free online craft tutorials as well, but I have not personally checked them out. They have men’s and women’s room located near the front between framing and the classroom. Men’s room is equipped with a swinging door but it still feels private enough with securely latched toilet stall. Also a urinal. Sink is fine and so is water pressure. The hand dryer is shockingly loud, but that’s okay, I guess. Tornado-like is how I’d describe it. There is room for improvement in the wreath making section because I wish there were more natural wreathing supplies. The false flowers and vines are not too convincing. But their bare components such as grapevine and bamboo and spider swag are all very natural and inviting for a session of wreath...
