THIS PLACE IS RACIST! SECURITY IS RACIST!! I went here last night and had the worst experience of my entire existence. I got tickets to see G Eazy, I paid for the fast pass to skip the line. I made my way to the front. It was just me. I was alone. I didn't shove or push anyone. I stood there minding my own. There was 2 ladies next to me on the right who immediately started pushing and shoving me so much and so hard I was pushing into the ladies on my left. I apologized to them. And just kept to myself. I just put my head down and thought, maybe when the music starts they will stop. But they didn't, they continued to shove and push. Then it kicking me, stomping on my feet and elbowing me in the face and wrist. They busted both my top and bottom lip. (I will insert photos) Even with all of this I did nothing. I was just trying to enjoy a show. It continued. They said they were going to pour beer and ranch in my hair. I said nothing. I was going to take out my phone and start recording but I felt it would just rile her up more and she would end up grabbing my phone and tossing it just to get me out of there "Security" (bigger white dude with a beard) walked by and she started saying that I was the one shoving and pushing and doing all the things when they were the ones literally assaulting and harassing me. He then asks her if I was the one she was having issues with earlier, she said yes. He then replies, "no it's not, she's over there" and points somewhere to the right of the crowd. This here should've been a telltell sign that SHE was the one causing issues, SHE was the one being rude to everyone. I said, "I literally did nothing, I've just been standing here while they're elbowing me in the face they busted my lip". He then proceeds to point at ME and tells ME I need to leave.I told him why me? I didn't do anything. It doesn't make any sense. He didn't to listen to the Hispanic female . He kicked ME, The Hispanic female out and not then white female who was clearly being rude and disruptive to more than 1 person. "Security" here is RACIST. I didn't do anything. Im a single mom of 2 young kids. I drove 3 hrs (6 hrs round trip) to see this G Eazy show. Why would I put myself in a situation to get kicked out? To cause trouble? I don't have friends, I don't go out. I thought I deserved this night out but I was just treated like less than garbage. I always see videos and never thought it would happen to me, but it did. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch the surveillance and see that I was just standing there. I'm not proud of this part, but I'm not telling a half story. He called over more "Security" personnel and since I was getting kicked out for NO REASON, I made there a REASON. I was so upset over everything happening I grabbed the back of the White females head and pulled her down....
Read moreWhat can I say? This venue is dialed. I've been attending concerts here since they came into existence. Let's start at the front doors. Entry and security are always smooth and quick. You can tell they have the process down. They are friendly and proficient. Next we head to entry and ticketing. They scan quickly, apply your wrist stamp for age and entry, and send you on your way. They are always smiling and pleasant to deal with. The venue itself is open and it's standing room general admission. That's my favorite type of venue setup because you have options. You need some space and air? Head towards the back and/or open doors. Want the best audio experience possible? Stand near or ideally in front of the audio mix. Want the most visceral and intimate experience? Slide your way to the front of the crowd. I can't really comment on the bar seating because that's just not my jam. But I can say the people up there always seem to be having a good time. Security is present but not intrusive. You will probably catch some fumes from vaping and/or marijuana but you can early avoid by staying further back. Security focuses on rowdy or intoxicated folks and honestly, that's the best kind of security. The sound is usually pretty dialed although very periodically over the years I have had some issues with the mix. Occasionally the vocals are a bit lost and there's too much emphasis on everything else. Mostly that's dialed by the time the headliner is on but not always. Merch is always setup in back out of the way. Ice water is easily available. They are more prone to have the doors open and fresh air coming in which can make it a little cooler. However, any concert pro knows that cooler is better than sweltering hot. Hot is a lot more dangerous anyway. Exit is always quick and organized. There are usually some street vendors outside for some late night bites. Overall, I love this venue more than most of the cramped disorganized, sit in your chair venues spread around the city. Whenever there's a concert here I'm always happy to attend and I've never had a bad experience in all my years. This is a prime example of a smooth operation that comes from standard operating procedures applied over a long...
Read moreMy partner and I attended the Novo Amor show here on October 1st. While the performance was amazing, we will not be attending a show at this venue again.
Despite being an all-ages show, their ADA seating was in the 21+ section. My partner is of age, but I am not, meaning we would have been separated for the whole show. Furthermore, their ADA seating was up a flight of stairs. This was fine for my partner, as they walk with a cane, but what about those who use wheelchairs?? What about minors who need accessible seating??? Half of their staff didn’t even KNOW there was ADA seating, we talked to multiple different staff members who said “ummm idk if there’s accessible seating, maybe ask [that other person]”.
We ended up finding a ledge to lean on so we could be together for the show. While we were waiting for the show to start, they asked us to move as they needed to put chairs there for minors who needed seating. So there is ADA seating for minors, but it’s at the back of the venue where the floors are sticky and the visibility is terrible. I wondered why they had not offered this solution to us initially.
When I brought this up with the lady handling ADA seating, she looked at us as if we were crazy and once again informed us there was 21+ seating. As we had informed her before, we are a couple and came to see the show TOGETHER. She started speaking to her colleague in a tone I can only describe as exasperated, as if we were asking for something unreasonable and insane. She said she would be back with another chair for us. We never saw her again.
The people using the chairs decided they wanted to move up front, and very kindly offered their seats to us, however if they had not we would have been resigned to leaning against the ledge the whole time.
Not only are their accessibility arrangements poorly thought out, they are also not up to the ADA standards (meaning they are not following the law). It’s exhausting to see people with disabilities treated with such little care and...
