I'm not much of a donut guy, but while taking my family to a Mariners game and splurging on a local hotel in the area, I decided to order donut delivery for the morning and surprise everyone. This is DEFINITELY NOT my m.o. Spending $50+ on donuts and coffee delivery is honestly pretty absurd, so chalk it up to an impulse move that I thought would be a nice & fun surprise for my kids.
Like everything in food service these days, we pay an astronomical price, for cheap ingredients, low quality and usually abysmal service. This was no different, IMHO. The online portal for ordering was decent, and then they contracted automatically through DoorDash (which is fine), but from there, they couldn't even pick my dozen donuts I ordered correctly!
When I called to speak to a manager about this inconvenience (they swapped my more expensive donuts out for plain), they wouldn't connect me, but promised to make it right by paying for my beverages. I asked to have a manager confirm this with me before the credit. They verified this would happen. It never did. And my credit never happened.
I contacted corporate to let them know how absurd this all was. Out of principle, I would like the insane amount of money I paid refunded (at least partially, as was promised) for their lack of professionalism, honesty, and quality control. They contacted me with a coupon for a free dozen donuts (which I have no use for now) and said "have a nice day."
Never again.
(Update: within 24 hours, the store manager replies here, but tells me to do exactly what I already did. AS MENTIONED. Ridiculous. That's what I get for even once supporting these...
Read moreI remember when Krispy Kreme first came out. The donuts were so good that the price they charge was definitely warranted. I have not been to Krispy Kreme in years and I was really shocked at what I discovered today. The name Krispy Kreme match because the regular donuts were so full of icing and cover thickly like a white frost. Now they are just lightly glazed like all the other cheap donut shops out there. This one factor alone takes away the name and the meaning of Krispy kreme. The chocolate custard-filled donuts is now cheap filling and completely defeats the meaning of good donuts at Krispy kreme. The raspberry cream filled donuts now have barely any filling and it's some cheap glaze now of raspberries just like all the other cheap donut shops out there. It is just insane how Krispy Kreme has strayed from the formula and now charges $3 a donut for cheap donuts. The Krispy Kreme donuts are now just the same as any donuts from any grocery store. I paid $21 in change for a dozen donuts that shouldn't have cost more than $6 because of the poor quality. I will never ever go to Krispy Kreme again and I highly recommend that if you don't want to get ripped off that you don't go either. I do not recommend them to anybody when you can go to the grocery store and get donuts of the same quality for 1/3 the price that Krispy Kreme charges. I was very disappointed. I only ate one of each of the three different kinds that I got and four of each and literally threw the donuts away because I was so upset that I have been ripped...
Read moreWhenever I’m in the area of SODO, catching an event or picking up materials, I’ll swing by Krispey Kreme donuts, and every time it does not disappoint. My go-to is the original glazed, a classic. They have many different options and flavors, and what makes them special is their melt-in-your-mouth freshness. It’s truly an exceptional experience if you’ve never tried them. The original glaze isn’t too sweet or filling. It’s very light, and they usually surprise me with an extra complimentary donut, which is one of the little things that sets them apart as far as service.
I like to go through the drive-through for convenience, which is quick and easy. You’re back on the road within a few minutes.
If you have time to sit down, or you’d like to see how they make the delicious donuts, the inside is light-filled and immaculate. It’s spacious with plenty of seating, whether you want to sit in a quiet corner for a work meeting or closer to the action. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, so just ask them, and they’ll take care of you.
Also check out their frozen coffee drinks this summer! They have a selection of gourmet flavors and different types of cold and frozen drinks, even ones without caffeine that hit the spot.
I feel like this place is an underrated hidden gem. If you haven’t tried it, go check it out. And if you know, you know, so keep giving them your support. Krispey kreme is a highlight of the...
