Dear Haley, I am surprised that, as the owner, you might not be fully considering the long-term impact on client retention and the potential financial loss, which could be greater than a late cancellation fee. This is especially true if clients feel forced to seek services elsewhere. Your response to my review, 'We genuinely wish you a speedy recovery & hope you find a salon that fits your needs, " only highlights this concern.
While the rationale behind protecting the stylists' income is understandable, the approach to cancellations, particularly in unforeseen circumstances like sudden illness, seems to lack empathy for your clients. This perception could result in decreased customer loyalty, which is crucial for a business like yours.
Overall, while the policy's intent is to support the stylists, a more balanced approach that also considers and respects the client's circumstances could be more beneficial for maintaining long-term relationships with your clients.

I had to cancel my appointment with them scheduled for tomorrow because I fell ill. I did so as soon as I realized and confirmed it, but it was less than the 48-hour cancelation policy window. There was no way I could have cancelled earlier because I was absolutely fine before.The circumstances were explained to a staff member over the phone this morning. Nevertheless, I was charged for a late cancellation fee. So, the conclusion is to mark on your calendar when you plan to get sick, and fall ill accordingly. Do not dare to fall ill unpredictably outside of the scheduled days, especially within 48 hours of your appointment. This is only 3 days after I got the balayage from them and I was horrified and afraid to leave my house because how ugly this hair looks. I came to them with my natural hair color and told my stylist that this is my first time bleaching my hair so I don't know what would look good on me. They showed me some example photos on Pinterest of balayage on dark hair and I entrusted my hair to them and here is the result. First of all, it looks nothing like the example photo (which is also on dark hair). It was not just about the yellow color but you can also see there is un-even application of color. Even with this ugly result, they lied to me that the color looks good so I left the store. Only when I got home I saw how bad the color looks. I had to dye my hair dark back since I have an important event coming up. What's worse, I called the business afterwards for some fix solution but there seems nothing they can do to help. With the cost of dying my hair back to dark color, it's $1000 plus damage to hair. It's really disappointing. It's hard to move on but I learned to not trust this hair salon again even with their 5 star rating(I got fooled by the rating at first). If I could leave 10 stars I would!!! I had my first ever extensions installation with Haley, as well as a blonding session. Haley’s attention to detail and artistry are incredible. That combined with her kind, calm, caring demeanor made for a wonderful experience. You can tell she loves her craft, her team, and her clients. I’ve had many blonding sessions over the years, but no one has been as quick at foiling while still having jaw dropping precision like Haley. It’s like she was a mind reader and knew just what I wanted when it came to color. It was fun to hear her coach her apprentice who was shadowing/assisting during my appointments. You can tell she really puts time and dedication into finding high quality stylists to train under her. After my appointment she took the time to go over all aftercare for extensions.
