Are great 1.8 mile loop is available for the casual Sedona visitor. Take CRUSTY to GRAND CENTRAL, then COYOTE and return via ADOBE JACK. If you do the loop in this sequence you will only be facing the Sun for the CRUSTY part and for the remainder of your hike the sun will be at your side or back. The walk is about 80% shady [mid AUG @ 6:30 am] and is a cool walk through a forest grove. Along parts of the trail including the beginning, you will hear plenty of traffic noise and be in view of homes and businesses. Soon after the beginning of the trail though it will become peaceful and quiet and much of the time you'll have a trail to yourself. The views are beautiful, and we also loved the pine trees. We also really enjoyed the walk because it's not too long and it took us about an hour and a half.
