The restaurant is situated inside the Ambiente Hotel so when we pulled up the valet took our car and had us walk through the resort to the restaurant located next to the pool. We were seated on patio furniture in a canvas tent with plastic windows overlooking the pool area and all the people in the hot tub. Super weird ambience for a supposedly nice restaurant. The entire waitstaff was excellent but the food was disappointing and I ended up sick all night. I had the artichokes which were covered in a rich sauce. They were prepared well but I just didn’t enjoy the creamy rich sauce with the artichokes. My husband had the elk loin tenders which had good flavors but a little tough. My main course was absolutely terrible. I ordered the King Crab and gnocchi. The gnocchi was rubbery and the sauce was too rich and salty and the crab tasted funny (like really fishy). I ate the asparagus from the dish thinking it was fine but that was a mistake. Our waiter didn’t even comment that I barely touched it and left the entire crab leg on top. Overall we left disappointed in our romantic dinner out. And to make it worse within a half hour of leaving I got violently sick and spent the night in the bathroom. We called the restaurant to let them know I got sick there and they just apologized but that was it. We were told a manager would call us back but no response and no one even checked in on me. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone….Disappointing ambience and expensive for low quality food. Our dinner for two was almost $300 with our tip and no alcohol and I spent the evening with food poisoning completely ruining our trip. Even if I wouldn’t have gotten sick I still...
Read morePerhaps the restaurant was having an off night or because we had an 8:45pm reservation and everyone was tired and wanted to go home. The food lacked seasoning and the Latin and Asian flavors seem forced together and didn't really compliment one another in the dishes. Butterfish and halibut are two different types of fish, but both names were mentioned on one of the starters. Needless to say it was overcooked and dry. The roasted artichokes was the only dish that was seasoned and tasted great! We ordered the duck entree medium rare and the outside was well done and the inside was completely rare. The duck "bon bon" was dry and had an overpowering ginger flavor. Our seven hour braised bison short rib was dry and the demi was bland. Our server was attentive and friendly. The musician playing that night has a great voice, but was a little too loud for such a small restaurant. I was expecting better quality food for such high prices and the standards of the hotel. All the other reviews were so positive, so I was...
Read moreOverall a very disappointing dining experience. The staff and atmosphere were great and there were no issues with the service. The elk appetizer was also fantastic, which set the bar very high for the entrees which unfortunately were hard to finish (and not because of the portion sizes). Each portion was pitifully small for the exorbitant price point, which normally wouldn't be an issue if the entrees were edible. We ordered the king crab and duck dishes which were a mix of so many different ingredients and flavors that the overall taste was downright bad. The cherry on top was getting slapped with a $200 bill for a tiny amount of very unenjoyable food. We ended up getting a real meal down the street after we left. Perhaps our palates were simply not refined enough to properly enjoy such a pretentious establishment. You are better off spending your...
