If youâre cruising up I-45 north of Houston near The Woodlands and your stomach starts rumbling, do yourself a favor and stop by Hebertâs Meat Market. This place is a little slice of Cajun heaven, packed with all sorts of exotic and traditional Louisiana goodies. Whether youâre after their famous boudin sausage, crave some spicy Cajun specialties, or want to try one of their legendary stuffed chickens, youâre in for a treat. The variety is impressiveâthink stuffed meats, sausages, and plenty of unique finds you wonât see at your average grocery store.
The shop itself is spotless, with a clean and easy-to-navigate parking lot in a nice, safe area. The staff are genuinely friendly and happy to help you pick out something special or answer any questions you might have. One pro tip: bring an ice chest or cooler with you! Almost everything at Hebertâs is kept cold and youâll want to keep your treasures chilled on the way home, especially in that Texas heat.
So, next time youâre in the area, swing by Hebertâs and treat yourself. Your taste buds will thank youâand so will your friends if you share! After all, good food is meant for good company. As they say in Cajun country: âLaissez les bon temps rouler!â (Let the good...
Read moreJust visited Heberts speciality meats in the woodlands. Walked into the store looking for andouille sausage, because Iâm a Louisiana girl and the only sausage I want in my gumbo is andouille. I will normally drive to Louisiana to purchase it. As my daughter and I entered the store, the lady walks out of the back as if sheâs bothered by our presence in the store, she gives a âDRYâ persona the entire time we are in the store. Mind you while we are shopping she walked to the register, gets a paper bag out and opens it as if she wants us to hurry up and leave. I was humiliated at this point, I asked my daughter âis that a que for me to hurry up and get what I want and go???â I was so upset by her reaction, I put everything I had in the basket back in the cooler and left. I definitely felt like she didnât want my money. I asked for her manager and she said she was the managerđ˛ this is DEFINITELY not the way to treat ANY customer if you want your business to grow. She has very BAD management skills. IF I could give a...
Read moreWe googled âcracklinsâ on our way from Houston to DFW & exited hwy to go here. They do NOT have original Herbertâs cracklins! Iâm always used to stopping at the Louisiana locations & they cook them there so theyâre fresh & warm with actual MEAT on the skins. All this location had was premade & bagged âCrawsâ brand, which were more like pork rinds, super spicy & too hard. Was so disappointed in this, but we did get over $250 worth of crawfish pies & gumbos (all frozen to cook when you get home). Heberts really needs to package THEIR OWN cracklins if theyâre gonna sell them this way! I get that not all locations have a built in kitchen, so it really annoyed me they chose to sell some...
