T.J. Maxx — Local services in Shenandoah

This store is fine, but the employees are rude. I know not to expect great customer service anymore, but why be so miserable? I was making returns and had the receipt for one, but not for the other. However, the tags were affixed to the outside of the garment and clearly hadn’t been worn. The employee told me I could only get store credit, which was totally fine because I wanted the same item in another size that they didn’t have at this location. But then she told me I HAD to have a receipt from now on and said “this is your final warning.” It was so weird and menacing— I’ve been there twice in my life, never made a return before, and the item was $12.99. Look, lady, I’m sure people steal and return merchandise for money all the time because you can’t manage your store customer service, MUCH LESS your security, and they probably don’t press charges against the reprobates, but I didn’t come here to fuss you over on a $13 item for my kid, so spare me the attitude....

Unfortunately, if you look like me, you are never offered customer service and followed around by their obvious loss prevention person. I’ve tried shopping at this location twice in my life time, and Wednesday September 11, 2024 was THE last time. Two things: One I worked in retail, while attending college, and if you are unhappy serving customers, work somewhere else. Two, I can afford anything I want in that store and others, so to think I wouldn’t notice that minimum wage imbecile vicariously looking at pink coupe wine glasses, because I was on that isle viewing wine glasses, is top tier ignorance on the person(s) part(s) for thinking I didn’t notice I was being followed and harassed. One star was given, because I’m there is not an option that says the staff is prejudice and profiling people with color...

Almost had a bad experience Thank You Bri the manager there for your time and patience while I was there with my mother in law and sister in law shopping for clothes for her she's 87 ... I needed jeans and was in a wheel chair and I needed a different size and was told something by the fitting room attendant that I felt was a bit rude and racially profiling by saying I was on camera that was uncalled for ..... But I kept my cool spoke with Bri explained the situation and I was pleased with how professional she was. Thank you for turning my 87 year old mother in law and my shopping experience around SHOUT OUT TO BRI...
