From the outside looking in, you would think these apartments would be a decent choice. When arriving to the building, you are granted a factory/warehouse facing the front entrance, along with a barbed wire fence adjacent to the building, blocking you off from the forest. There are only 19 parking spots available for the whole complex (Which you would have to pay to use), and they are constantly on a wait list to be taken. If you cannot secure an outdoor parking spot, you must use the garage, which is another $80 a month. These are the only choices. You are able to technically park on the street, but you cannot leave your car overnight per Shoreview city ordinance.
When you finally arrive, you are greeted with a nice lobby, but that's about it. The management is nice and will respond quickly, but they seem oddly fake and seem to be trying too hard to sell the apartments on you, instead of being genuine human beings. They will also bombard you with fees that they conveniently do not post on their websites, including extremely high internet prices. For 200mbps service, it is $125, which is incredibly high and they only offer this one ISP. You can get 5x this speed for less than half the cost at neighboring communities.
The hallways seemed dead and uninviting when walking through, which was likely due to the poor and dim lighting. When applying to this building, you are required to to pay the security deposit, even if you have not been accepted, and you are unable to get your deposit back, even if it is within 24 hours of the initial tour.
Once in the apartment, the kitchen does stand out as very nice, with lots of counter space and cabinet space. This is about it though. The apartments are oddly built, with almost no living space. We found ourselves struggling to imagine both a couch and dining room table in a 2 bed 2 bed apartment, which is sad. The bedrooms are very small as well, which most of the space being taken up by the strange walk through closets, which offer a decent amount of storage space, but don't really make a ton of sense, as half of the closet is taken up by the space you have to walk through to get to the bathrooms.

Read moreDO NOT MOVE HERE!!! This is the most honest review you will read. Do not be fooled by the amenities and flashy things you may see. You have to pay a monthly fee on top of your internet service, just for them to allow you to have internet, and you can only go through the provider they choose. Also you pay not just for your unit utilities, but you also pay for the lights in the hallways, common area, outside lights, while being limited to how, when, and how many people you choose to enjoy it with. For the amount you pay in rent, you would think youre getting a quality built unit. Its crazy how cheaply built it is. The flooring is done poorly with cheap material, the carpet is laid poorly to where some areas arent even flush to the ground, the trims are so cheap that any sort of pressure will risk denting it, the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors walking in the next unit, you can hear them showering, you can hear them when they turn on their tv. For how expensive the rent is, you would think you’ll get a quality durable built unit, but no. Also, prior to moving in you pay a $400 non-refundable fee on top of your deposit. We was told that the $400 goes towards making the unit ready for the next tenants when you move out, also includes admin fee. Youre giving a checklist to clean your unit thoroughly before move out, or else you will be charge extra fees, but isnt that what the $400 non-refundable is for?? to make the unit ready?? Shouldnt i get the $400 back if i thoroughly cleaned my unit so that it’ll be ready? Well that $400 seems like another pointless fee they want to charge. Isn’t that the whole point of a deposit?? to make sure you clean your unit, and if not they use your deposit to cover cleaning fees? i guess not. Also be aware they do give out discounts for tenants who wants to leave reviews, so one would only assume majority of the reviews must have been to gain discount. Hey if this sounds like things you would like to deal with, this is the...
Read moreEmrik SV is an absolute stellar place to live. Whether you’re single, married or have a family, the Emrik has room for you. Plentiful amenities including an outdoor pool, hot tub, gym with a yoga room and sauna, pickleball courts, a pool table, and a movie theater room. There’s also a dog park and a small bike room that you can use at any time.
When looking at other complexes, the bang for your buck goes a long way here. Super affordable and always clean. Most visitors share, the place feels like a 5 star hotel.
Safety wise, the entire building is secured with call boxes and fob locks. There is a mail room for daily mail and and a package room for larger items. What I love most about the Emrik SV is its location. Central from the cities and near many restaurants, grocery stores and shopping malls, it’s so easy to get to where you need to be.
I wouldn’t do this place justice without sharing more about the events. Monthly, the building hosts events that allow for residents to connect and enjoy a day/night in. The commons area is always full when an event is hosted and they are truly a great time. My favorite event is during the holiday season, they offer free gift wrapping materials to residents.
Last but certainly not the least, the staff. There aren’t enough humans in the world who show as much care and attention to your well being as the Emrik SV staff. From the daily cleaners to everyone in the front office, they are all so nice and treat everyone with respect. If I ever have an issue or question, the staff door is always open and ready to help.
If you’re looking for the all-in-one place to live, I recommend you book a tour and sign a lease before you walk out....
