BOOKS FOR CASH *(as they advertise) IS A SCAM. Despite the website advertising cash for books, and the sign saying buy, sell, trade, they don't actually offer cash. I called on a Monday like the website said to tell them I was dropping off a box of books and was told come on in. When I arrive, I was asked if I wanted my box back and if I wanted to wait or shop. I asked how long the wait would be and was told "oh at least a day or two to process them all". I shopped around but had to go back to work. They asked for my name and phone number and put it on a sticky note.... so I called back on Wednesday (to give them plenty of time). I was told on this phone call that they don't buy books and she transferred me to another lady. That lady must have been the manager or owner or something but she was rude and made me feel as though the miscommunication was entirely my fault. I tried to point out that when I called Monday they did not tell me they didn't buy books. She asked me if I made sure to tell the ladies in the store because there were 6 girls there and I had probably spoken to someone different on the phone and the ladies in store didn't know who I was or that I had even called. She asked several times who I spoke to and worked with. She basically just told me that the money is in a trade in account and 99% of the time only offer only trade in store credit for books. She assured me the money doesn't expire (thank God for that.) But that it would just sit there waiting on me. And apparently the store credit only covers half the cost of the books in store. She said my books had been processed and there wasn't a record of what I had so there was nothing she could do. And let's not forget to mention that the inside of the store had little to no organization or signage to indicate where books would be. The upstairs is a half floor with a few small rooms and a poor selection of fantasy books. Or at least poor organization to know where...

I absolutely love this bookstore. Tucked away with that cozy, lived-in charm only a secondhand shop can have, it's the kind of place you can spend hours browsing and always walk out with something unexpected and wonderful.
One of the best things about this place? They accept trade-ins and offer store credit, which makes feeding your book habit a lot more affordable. For every book you buy, you can use 50% of your store credit toward the price, and you pay the other 50% out of pocket. I've seen a few folks grumble about this setup, but honestly, this is a very common model in the world of used bookstores. They still have to keep the lights on, pay rent, and compensate their (super friendly and knowledgeable) staff.
And even with that model, you're still getting books at a huge discount compared to retail prices—plus you're recycling books and supporting a small business that gives our community so much character. It's a win-win-win.
The selection is always rotating, the staff gives great recommendations, and there’s something special about knowing the book you just picked up has a history. Highly recommend this place to any fellow readers, collectors, or anyone trying to stretch their book budget while...
