Turner's Outdoorsman — Attraction in Signal Hill

I called this place to verify a pistol being sold on consignment was in stock still as per website, in which it was gladly. The girl put me on hold while on the phone after verifying it was in stock so she could hold it for me. I waited on hold for over thirty mins and she never got back to me so I hung up figuring she was busy, not thinking anything really. Figured I’d show up in the morning to pick it up like it’d be no big deal. I show up on the morning and shes like “you need an appointment, can’t get you in till Tuesday”....would’ve been nice to know that before driving thirty miles to make the purchase! She was acting like nothing about it, unapologetic and all...total waste of my time; never seen such an overt display of incompetence and apathy by any employee anywhere. She even admitted it was her who left me hanging on the phone! Later for this Turners, that place is all bad. I’m a passive person and understand people make mistakes, but she just left me hanging on the phone indefinitely, kinda like she was just waiting for me to give up; and also didn’t inform me about having to make any appointments or anything.. or else I would’ve gladly made an appointment! maybe one of her friends is saving up for that gun or something, who knows. I don’t get it..all I know is that I’m done with turners, other people have reported lousy service there as well, should’ve listened to their reviews. Don’t support these incompetent swine. I sure as hell wouldn’t want someone of that work ethic working for me...I really wanted that gun too, had cash in hand and everything, but I’m not going to support those imbeciles. My experience w/ Turners Outdoorsman was overall GREAT. I actually had a very pleasant visit. i walked into the Turner's Outdoorsman w my only intentions to browse around then leave. i was very reluctant to speak to anyone and let alone purchase any thing but because 2 Rock-Star Employees: Miss Jennifer C and Mr Travis H., i will be purchasing my First firearm handgun.

-Jennifer C. was AWESOME , she was so welcoming and informative. She had tremendous product knowledge. Because of Jennifer's suggestion, i purchased my first pepper spray w blue dye and i made a 2nd trip to the store to take and receive my Firearm Safety Certificate. Yay!

-Travis H. was EXCEPTIONAL he saw that i was nervous and with his superb detailed knowledge of each firearm handgun & their functionality, he gave me a sense of comfort and secure with handling a handgun. I love the fact that he was primarily focused on customer's comfort level rather then "the sell". Which i believe makes the difference of me just being a customer and then being a "Returning" customer.

Because of these 2 EXTRAORDINARY Employees (Jennifer C and Travis H). I will be returning to the Signal Hill Store, which will make it my 3rd trip w/in 3 weeks back to Turners Outdoorsman to actually select and purchase my 1st firearm / handgun, And i will also be bringing a friend i have referred who fully intends on purchasing her 1st firearm...

Have been to this store many times and I generally like their selection of guns, ammo and accessories but the people behind the gun counter have a serious attitude problem and after today’s experience I was finally compelled to write a review. At the time of this review, 10+ capacity mags are LEGAL in California so I decided to call and get information on purchasing some. Prior to calling I did research and various companies were taking orders and shipping to CA. I called and the guy that answered was quick to shut down my inquiry and state “nothing has changed, you can still only have 10rd mags”. I replied by referencing what I had researched and he once again jumped and with more attitude this time repeated literally what he had just said....long story short I said thank you, hung up the phone, called Ammo Bros in Norwalk who’s staff was not only very friendly but knowledgeable on the fact that 10+ round mags are LEGAL now! I ended up ordering the mags Turners told me I couldn’t have with Ammo Bros and couldn’t be more happy. Not a smart way to run a business by turning away paying customers Turners.

Oh and by the way, this review is not for the girls at the cashier or the fishing section personel, as they are always very friendly and helpful w/o...
