WaBa Grill — Restaurant in Signal Hill

Down right amazing food. Nice clean place. Fast service. Friendly Staff. This place is great!

I honestly didn't think I would Yelp this place walking in, it was just a quick bite on a busy weekend but I was impressed that I had to show them some love.

Stepped into WaBa for a quick meal a couple weekends back. I went with WaBa because it was the only place in the shopping center that looked clean and like it would have fresh food. The place was busy but lines move incredibly fast so the busyness really just creates a nice vibe that you usually don't expect at a quick serve place, reaffirming you made the right choice.

Service and Food: As soon as I got to the line, we were greeted by multiple members of the staff, Greg who helped us asked if I had ever bee to a WaBa grill before, nope, he continued to explain the menu and tell me his favorite items. I went with the Chicken Salad which was really good. I MEAN REALLY EXCELLENT. Honestly I was surprised at how fresh it was, I expected something a little better than fast food but if I weren't sitting there I would have thought my salad came from a tablecloth restaurant. It was fresh as possible, like that mornings produce fresh, no wilted salad served here. The chix cooked perfectly and sauced and seasoned just right.

Setup: First, I was amazed how clean the place was. I mean WOW the whole restaurant was shiny! I also really liked the open kitchen behind the counter. You can see the staff hustling on orders and making your food fresh. The layout was also very modern and impressive, it made for a very comfortable meal.

Price: I paid around $10 for my food and drink, I gladly would have paid more. The quality and value deserve 5 stars alone.

A very nice little spot for a quick bite, with some decent, HEALTHY(for like $0.35 CENTS more you can sub the rice for more veggies, which I REALLY liked) choices, especially compared to all the other "fast food" places out there. Great folk working in there(at least this place at Cherry & Willow, in the strip), as well: last time, my order took quite a bit longer to be made than it should've, which was to be honest, partially, MY own fault because I came in about 15 MIN before CLOSING, & they've already emptied the large water pot used for making the dumplings, which I solely came in for. Those are simply that delicious, & at only $2.50 per order of 5(I get 3-4 orders, & make it a meal)? it's a steal! & THEY took 1 of my items off the bill, without any complaints/prompts from ME, mind you = pretty decent of them, & rather rare nowadays! Those new DUMPLINGS are GREAT: I prefer them with straight up soy sauce, but that hot sauce it comes with, is aslo pretty good, I just can't eat spicy. It's certainly on MY favorite "FAST yet HEALTHY" food places...

Been to this location many times on my way home. Always somewhat decent. Tonight was absolutely terrible. Went in 3 hours before close. The 2 guys working were scrubbing the floors of the main kitchen there. One of the guys stopped using some equipment, took my order, dished my rice up, and put the meat (sitting out in open containers for who knows how long) onto the grill. All without washing his hands once. They could care less about the customers.

The meat sat on the grill for a couple of minutes not being paid attention to. They served it up. I got home a couple minutes later. The meat was cold and tough. The rice was hard and inedible. I ended up throwing most of it away. I'll be staying away from waba...
