TTB 07/09/17 - This is by far the worst concert I have ever been to from a venue standpoint. The staff are volunteers, and the security was unable and unwilling to control the crowd. There was no staff checking tickets at the seating areas so basically thousands of lawn seat people just walked up the seating area and crowded it well past capacity. We asked one guy with a volunteer shirt on if he worked there (just looking for the merch tent since there were no signs), and his response was "well... soft of". We paid for 2nd row seating when tickets first went on sale... and were surrounded by lawn seat people the entire concert to the point that we had to leave because it was no longer enjoyable. We are not grumpy old people, but we no longer enjoy the pit type seating, which is why we paid for seats. I would not see another show...
Read moreActually the only times I've been here are for the opening night of HSO's summer season on July 4th weekend each year, complete w/the orchestra playing all your favorite patriotic songs & fireworks! There are no "real" bathrooms but the porta-potties are clean & there's enough that there's never a long wait. The absolute worse thing about this place? The parking! If you do not arrive EARLY, you will WALK! You park wherever you can find a spot that is left, all over downtown Simsbury! There is nowhere near enough parking. But being located in Simsbury center, what else would you expect? So put on your walking shoes, pack a picnic dinner, grab your lawn chairs, get yourself a beach cart or wagon & have a great night of music w/your family! Don't forget...
