This museum is amazing and 100% worth visiting once. The curators have created a uniquely groveland experience, with histories of various families who were important to its history, and dioramas of gold mining and logging which were key to the community’s creation. There’s also taxidermies of local fauna, including a large bear, and other furs that kids will love to pet. My personal favorite portion was a collection of newspaper clippings from various eras, some relating to Northern California, and some not so much!

Read moreThis is a gem of a museum. It has very detailed displays that really capture the feeling of the Old West and the gold mining era. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable too. The real, touchable animal furs are a hit with the kids too. For a museum that occupies just one medium sized room, it has the content of one several times its size.
