THE GROVE MERCANTILE — Restaurant in Sonora

On July 2nd, power in the town went down. As we were driving an electric car, we were stranded in Groveland and took refuge in The Grove Mercantile. The owner was extremely kind, offering regular updates on the power and status of chargers in Groveland, even offering to fill our bottles with water as we waited for power to come back on. Even after having spent the night awake in the store dealing with the power outage, she served every customer heartily and with a big smile, truly showing the goodness of her heart. The owner is a genuine kind soul who made our time 'stranded' in Groveland much more bearable! A big thank you from us three weary travellers to you!

And of course, as many others have already pointed out, the ice cream was amazing! Would definitely recommend to any passing...

This place is wonderful! I wish we lived closer and could travel more frequently to this area of the country. We would be such frequent customers of this store.

The owners are so kind and welcoming. The products are top notch. We bought more than we thought we would just because of what fun and nice items they carry. But the main reason we went was for the Ice Cream. And it did not disappoint! The only downside was that we were there from Sunday to Thursday am, and The Grove is closed Monday and Tuesday- otherwise our one visit would have been at least 2-3! Our waistline...

We love love this ice cream shop! The family owners are so warm and friendly, and that comes across in the obvious care and effort behind their homemade ice creams. Our kids have severe dairy allergies, so finding vegan ice creams is a constant challenge let alone good tasting ones. The vegan pineapple mango and cookie butter flavors delivered BIG time! My husband also had the lemon huckleberry and cherry chip flavors, and he was absolutely delighted with those too. The only downside is the long delay before we can visit...
