My family and I have driven from Lakewood to this spot for the last six years; we have always had a great experience until today. We received our food ( for a family of 7). We pulled into the Walgreens next door, prior to driving back to Lakewood to hand out food and verify everything rather turn hold up the line, and noticed that two bungera were missing. No problem, we pulled in and mentioned that we were missing two burgers. We were not given a receipt; the first thing they do is ask to see the food. We are a family of 7, kids had mostly eaten what we were given., so what could we show? My wife and I offered to pay just for the missing two burgers before we were questioned by everyone in the trailer/truck. Again, we repeated that we were missing two burgers and either wanted to pay for them or just replace them. Finally a gentlemen from the rear, says pull around, no problem. Right? But then the kid at the window quips to my wife, next time, just show us your food. My guy, first, we spent $90 + on food, why would we try to lie or steal food? What could we show you without a receipt and what would showing you left over food prove? You'd still assume we were lying, which you did anyway. Second, the attitude from you all was uncalled for. Tell me, what the problem was if within ten minutes of an order being placed, we return and kindly ask for a mistake to be fixed and you give an attitude after not giving a receipt in the first place?
In the six years we have traveled to this place we have never encountered anythig like this. Next time, give a receipt, and we will ask for one, the lady repeated our order correctly prior to paying and repeated it when we returned, we were missing the burgers. We traveles 30mins to spend almost a $100 at your establishment, we would not lie about two burgers nor would we have wasted our time to go back through traffic on Marridian just to lie about two burgers but at almost $100 being spent, I'm sure most of you would have went back as well. Maybe I'm wrong though, I don't want to assume.
We will find another place to go to. I hope no one else has the same experience. We really loved Thia place...and recommended it often; will not spend my hard earned here money...
Read moreBetter than Dicks comparable to In N Out. This place was a hit. My little brother told me about this place and his wife, who’s from Cali said this was better than In N Out.
That statement alone intrigued my curiosity. So my husband and I drove here from Federal Way. If you’re not from Puyallup or not familiar with the area, just be warn that Meridian Street is no joke. The traffic is horrible. So…if you come out here be prepared to sit in traffic.
We ate in the parking lot of Walgreens since there is no parking available.
The menu is super simple. We had a double cheeseburger with regular fries, (2) bacon cheeseburger (1) with regular fries and the other with Cagney fries and an Orange Creamsicle and brooooo!!!! This was a hit!! The fries were not soggy. It was lightly salted and had a little crunch to it. The Cagney Way fries were amazing! It kinda reminded me of Animal Style fries from In n Out. It was really good. Dipping the regular fries in the Cagney sauce was delicious. The sauce reminds me of the Big Mac sauce. It was good! It had a nice sweet taste to it.
My bacon cheeseburger was delicious! It wasn’t greasy at all. Everything was fresh and grilled perfection. The Cagney sauce was delicious in the burger. I think that is what set this burger spot apart from other r burger places. They have a unique sauce that adds to the flavor and texture of their burger. I love how everything just mingle well together.
The Orange Creamsicle Milkshake was delicious!!!! I love dipping my fries it into the milkshake. I can taste the orange flavor of the creamsicle milkshake and it was perfect. Better than Burger Express. I love Burger Express milkshake but this was definitely waaayyyy better.
Overall…I had In N Out last week and I do have to say that this spot was better than In N Out. Every bite was worth the calories and the Meridian traffic.
I’ll definitely go back here again. But beware of the line. However, the line moves quick bc of their super...
Read moreI feel as though "Five Star" gets over used. A term that should mean "outstanding, amazing, wonderful, above and beyond, etc" is often used for just normal or "not anything wrong". You'll notice I give Out & About Burgers five stars and that is because that is all Google allows.
After reading the reviews on here and feeling slightly adventurous in my dining choices, my girlfriend and I came down just to give them a try. We are EXTREMELY happy that we made that decision and honestly feel this may be the best burger in Washington. Yes, we've tried that one...and that one...and yes, even that other one.
What makes Out & About so good? Simplicity. They have a basic burger stand menu without a bunch of frills. This means that what they do have is executed with master care and precision. Burgers that have a perfect seasoning and are mated with a perfect bun and fresh from the market vegetables pair with fries that are crisp, but not crunchy. Top this off with a Chocolate Malt that tastes as if Whoppers Malted Balls were liquefied, frozen, and then put in a cup. All of it reminds me of those old burger stands and diners that adhere to the old ways of the 50's and before.
All of that would have secured a five star rating, but the friendliness and efficiency of the staff was above and beyond just being nice and cordial. As this was our first visit, we had some questions. What is Cagney's Way? (Melted cheese and grilled onions). What shake is not on the menu? (Seasonally changes. They had Blackberry Eggnog, and Pumpkin Pie on this visit.) It was very easy to tell that they are passionate about what they do and that the quality in everything they do is not because it is just a business practice, but because they love doing it.
