So, this isn't my first time going to Urban Air, but it was definitely my worst experience. I gave it two stars because despite all the issues we had, the kids still overall had a really good time, and I won't take that from them.
We went on a weekend, so I expected a certain level of chaos. However, I wasn't prepared for how poorly run this place actually was. It's basically being run by teenagers, which is understandable for a place like this, but it was really hard to get the attention of an actual adult to handle various circumstances.
There were several eye-raising experiences this trip, but here are just a few:
We waited in an obnoxiously long line for food, waited about 30 minutes only to get to the front and be told they are not serving any hot food at the moment. When I suggested they should probably let everyone in the line know that, the cashier kind of shrugged her shoulders and brushed me off. She basically gave the impression that it's not her problem; she clearly doesn't care.
We got a locker and needed to purchase additional time. However, upon our return, the lockers are no longer accepting credit cards and only accepting exact change if you wanted to use cash. Luckily, I actually had money on me, and it wasn't stuck in my locker, so I went to the food counter, waited in another line to be told they can't make change. Went to the front of the check-in counter, only to be told he can't open the machine without me making an actual transaction. So he would have to find a manager. That took another 20 minutes.
They had two clueless, unenthusiastic boys running the laser tag area with pretty bad attitudes, and they were extremely slow overall. I'm talking moving at sloth speed. After they finally get us started in our game, one of my sons had an issue with his equipment. I returned to the entry point to get assistance from one of the workers, since it is a game. Except none of the young men that were working were still there. They were nowhere to be found as time was ticking away, and there was a line outside the door of other participants also trying to get in and play.
Workers had no control over the line, cutting and rude customers. Pretty much just shrugged their shoulders and allowed it, so it was up to you to keep order in the line.
One of my sons was threatened by another little boy who clearly lacked home training. This kid also threatened to go out to his 'car' and come back in. I'm sure you can understand where this is going. My son, who's never been exposed to that type of threat, went to one of the young workers, scared out of his mind, and let him know what was going on. She laughed and completely didn't take it seriously at all. I will say this infuriated me, which brings me to the next point.
You are allowed to run in and out as much as you want. You CAN bring your own food completely just ignore the signs, and I think you're able to smoke weed in there. I wish I was joking but I’m not.
I'll stop there, but honestly, I feel like I am forgetting a couple of things; there were so many things that went wrong with this trip. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. I would suggest you enter at your own risk, maybe try a weekday?
As a follow up, I’d like to add that I reached out to the facility and ask for someone to contact me directly about my experience, and no one ever...
Read moreI decided to take my family to Urban Air today just to get out of the house and have some fun. I bought the Platinum Pass so that we could enjoy all of the games and rides inside of Urban Air. The cost for 3 people (2 adults; 1 child for 3 Platinum Passes was roughly $130 bucks when you round up to the nearest dollar. In addition to that we bought 3 slices of cheese pizza (1 for each of us), 1 tray basket of popcorn (for our daughter), 3 carbonated beverages (1 for each of us), 1 Waffle Fry (for me that I didn't eat because they were cold and dry), and 1 bottle of water (for me).
The Go Karts here are so much different than they are in other states. These Go Karts are super controlled. As an adult, I might as well not even have my foot on the gas because they're controlling your speed continuously throughout your ride. This sucked so bad. It took the fun out of it for me and my husband. I can understand controlling the kids cars because they're inexperienced drivers and most are unsure of what to do.
My family and I didn't ride together and that's what I wanted but my husband told me to go ahead. He and our daughter raced together. As I was coming in the kart assistant yelled, "Go over there on that side!!" I said, "Lane 1?!" Kart Guy points and yells, "That side!" Dude doesn't know his left from his right? Lane 1 from Lane 2? What in tarn?! As I'm pulling up the black guy assistant yells at me, "Aye!! The exit is this way!!" I turned to him to say, "I'm getting my fanny pack bag from my husband before he takes off!!!" He shrugs, "Oh okay." And proceeded to look down at a device in his hand. 1st of all, although I peeped the exit when I got on to the ride, these guys did not even do a walk through to say these are where your exits are when the ride is over.
Half of the workers that are working in this establishment act as though they don't even want to be here. They weren't smiling, they weren't really engaging, and they weren't fun. There were a couple of them that were but the rest of them, they had no enthusiasm, no drive, no fun about them.
I was standing in line to put my daughter on the zipline and I found out that the father and the son that was in line behind me had just had a birthday party because one of the guests came up and thanked them for inviting them because she was going to leave with her family. I wish the young man a happy birthday and I gave him $5.00 bucks. It was all the cash I had on me at the time. His father said I didn't have to do that and he thanked me as did his son. I know I didn't but I just felt like I wanted to.
My daughter and I played the VR roller coaster game. That's $10 bucks a game and you only get a few seconds to choose which roller coaster you want to ride. We also played the Nerf game and motorcycle race game for $1.75 per player.
Anyway, we made the best of the day. Our daughter enjoyed herself, she conquered her fear of heights today, and our family walked outta...
Read moreAs many have stated I want to start with I wouldnt even give it 1 star but you have to to write a review. I also have held out writing this review to give them time to make things right its obvious they dont care about me returning to their Establishment or possibly any other urban air locations. So my sister and our 2 kids visited the laurel location on Friday June 7th with a free pass I will say she has had the free pass from February 2023 I realize that's a while. We'll the proceed to tell us they no longer except that free pass mind you no where on this free pass does it have a "use by" or Expiration date.i did not cause a seen I paid for my daughter's ticket $50 it was $49.something and asked for a corporate # not realizing Urban airs are franchises There is no corporate but they gave me a number which sent me in circles for days. The gm knew that wasn't going to get me where I wanted quiet frustrating! Then when I get someone to call me back wouldn't you know same guy "chris" that didn't Honor the free pass before so we wernt going to get anywhere obviously so bottom line issue not resolved. NOW LETS TALK SAFETY!!!!! so go karts my daughter is 7 but a big 7 still did not reach the Petals I had to ask the employee for a thing at her back so she could be closer no problem altho for safety they should just give them when they see a child can't reach it so while giving her the back rest or back pad he moved the whole seat up why would I need to ask for that u could see her struggling to reach the Petals by atleast 1/2 - foot. So bottom line had I not asked they really would have sent her out basically laying down to reach. I would not usually make this big of a stink hower the pass was free it came from one of the few birthday parties my sister threw there and if you know you know they are not chear for the crap service you receive. All I wanted is this free pa's be honored as it should have been but now they have lost customers and party's we would have thrown in the future. Oh and when I just asked for a discounted price because I planned on free they said thers no way for them to do so I know for a fact they could have at the very least given me a % off just chose not to and I absolutely know that especially after finding out they are privately owned now I have probably wasted my time on this review but I am absolutely that upset about how the situation was handled but after reading these reviews it seem at this rate they may not be around much longer. I know I missed many other points of my complaint to much to put into words so I hope I can help you and your family save your money just don't go...... Pizza was good tho I GUESS ONLY GOOD REVIEWS GET FEEDBACK I WAS RAN IN CIRCLES STILL WITH NO ONE...
