Read moreFirst time here, our server/bartender was Oscar. I didn't take any pictures as I was too busy talking lol. They have outdoor seating, always a plus and a grass wall by the front door for pics, which is a little different at a Mexican restaurant in Laurel, but it's a cute look.
The chips are salsa were really good as the chips were fresh and hot. The food came out like really quick. I ordered the Tex-Mex taco combo which was a choice of 3 street tacos with cilantro and radishes or 3 flour tacos with lettuce, cheese and sour cream with beans and rice. I chose the street tacos with shrimp. My friend ordered shrimp fajitas that just came with guacamole and sour cream. He asked for pico de gallo, that showed up as an extra charge on the bill, that's a later discussion. The tacos were tasty, but the beans were cold, so had to send it back and 2 minutes later a whole new plate came out, the beans still weren't any more than room temp, but just dealt with it.
We ordered double shots of Tito's and tonic for drinks. Oscar only filled the larger side once for each drink. If I remember my bartending classes/TAM certification correctly, a shot is 1.5 oz, which is generally the larger side of the jigger, so a double should have been 2 of the larger side. When we told him we asked for a double he said it was and charged us for doubles, 5 drinks total charged for 10.
They have HH that starts at 2, buy 2 shots of any Tequila or Mezcal, get the 3rd for a penny. So yes we did shots of Don Julio Repasado @$15 each which broke down to $10/shot. That was ok, but not really much of a HH.
So now that we've eaten, drank and had our shot, we ask for the bill. We have been charged $2 extra for the shrimp in the fajitas, that's pretty normal, $1.50 for the pico and $4 for the chaser in the Tito's and tonic. What??? We've been charged $15/drink and now an additional $4 for the tonic. Where is that acceptable? Of course my friend complained and was trying to get an explanation. After 20 minutes of convo, they finally took the chaser off.
Needless to say, I won't be in a...

Amigos has potential, but unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. Let’s start with the highlights: the passion fruit frozen margarita with Tajín was absolutely delightful, a perfect balance of tangy, sweet, and refreshing. The pico de gallo was incredibly fresh, and our server, Ingrid, was lovely—attentive, kind, and professional. In fact, all the lady servers seemed warm and welcoming.
Now, onto the drawbacks: the guacamole was sorely lacking salt and lime, which are, frankly, non-negotiables. The restroom was in an appalling state—filthy and out of paper towels, which says a lot about the restaurant’s attention to detail.
And then there was the birthday fanfare—at first, charming, but by the fourth and fifth deafening celebration, it became downright overwhelming. A festive atmosphere is great, but this felt excessive.
The host stand was perhaps the most disappointing aspect—three hosts looked us in the face and didn’t so much as say “Goodnight” as we left. That level of indifference leaves a sour final impression. Seating was another issue—despite multiple unmarked empty tables, we had to convince them to seat our party of two, as they insisted the tables were reserved (oddly, with no clear signs indicating so).
Overall, 3.4/5 stars. There’s a solid foundation here, but hospitality and execution need refinement. I’d return only if I happened to be in the area and someone else insisted—but I certainly wouldn’t go...
