I would like to say my family and I enjoyed it. What I can say is that the 1st and 2nd talks given were very informative. Those gentlemen were great along with one tall guy in a white shirt with Dinosaur Park (I believe) on it and sandals. However, when we were allowed to look for fossils things plummeted. The park employees that help on that part were extremely rude and condescending. I was singled out for for "digging" when what I actually did was use my finger to move a rock to see if there was a fossil underneath. Now, please understand that I did what I observed EVERYONE else doing including the employees, but I was literally scolded like a child! There is a respectful way to talk to people. I observed a child literally picking up rocks and throwing them and not one person said a word to her. Then our child was yelled at by an employee and he didn't do anything! It's interesting that (at that time) there were no other human beings there that "looked" like our family. All the families that "looked" the "same" were not treated as we were. Another interesting fact is that I heard one employee tell another that he was sick of people thinking he was mean. Sir, if multiple people have told you that, perhaps there is truth to it. It's not what you say but HOW you say it. I'm so disappointed. Our son has LOVED dinosaurs and their history for the last 8 years and was super excited for this piece of history in our own backyard so to speak. So it was hurtful seeing him walk away feeling defeated after being yelled at for NO reason. If you're not happy with your job, please allow someone who has a passion for this to come in and...

Was curious about this place and came to a free event hosted this summer and I will definitely not be back. The staff were not welcoming and expected children to not want to touch toy dinosaurs that they had on display. While we were listening to the very long presentation of just Jacob talking not answering questions or even realizing that the audience is 75% children. Of course kids will get board and mine entertained themselves by playing with dirt on the ground (not on top of their precious hill). He had a problem with that and then proceeded to use my children as examples of what not to do when on top of the hill. I left without taking my children to see the dirt hill because why on earth would I stay somewhere we’re clearly not welcomed… My kids are very well behaved but at the end of the day, kids will be kids. This place is more geared towards the weird adults that work there. very much so not accommodating to children or to people that are hands on learned . If you don’t want to hear them talking then they don’t want you there . Like who gets made at two 4 years not paying attention to something that happened many years ago. The only activity they had was looking at dirt and a few possible fossils you may see...

Things to do in Maryland Dinosaur Park 📍13100 Mid Atlantic Blvd, Laurel, MD 20708 📅Open the 1st & 3rd Saturday every month ⏰Now until May 2-4pm, Starting in June 10am-12pm 🅿️ The parking lot is tiny but parking is permitted along Mid-Atlantic Blvd 🚻 There are two bathrooms 🧺 There are benches as well as tables 📌 If this is your first time visiting, you must listen to the brief which goes over what has been found in the park, what you may find in the park as well as the rules. ⭐️ There are volunteers in orange vests who are very knowledgeable and will answered any questions we had. I know one of them was a paleontologist! 🦕 The femur fossil of an Astrodon was found at this park in the 90s (it is currently on display at the Maryland Science Center) and right now they believe they found more fossils from the same dinosaur. They had it covered in tarp when we came to visit. #dinosaurpark #laurelmd #princegeorgescountymd #princegeorgescounty #laurelmaryland #marylandfossils #mdfossils #thingstodoinmd #thingstodoinmaryland #marylandcheck #maryland #marylandtiktok #marylandtravel #marylandfamilyfun

So they apparently have interpretive programs at this park on the first and third Saturday of the month. But if you just check the hours on google and it says open; what the “open” is referring to is this pretty small open space with one thing for kids to climb on and a handful of fact boards to look at. If you want to have a picnic that would work cause there’s a few picnic tables; but your views will be of large corporate office complexes, so not worth driving even 30 minutes for. Make sure you find out when the programs are or you will have an uninspiring visit in the middle of the week.

Super cool and unique experience. Do not take small children to the dig site, the park connected is fine for them. This is a legit place to help find pieces of real bones and fossils. You must be able to follow instructions and be mindful of what you are doing. Helpful staff and a great experience. My son(age 9) and I each found things to be collected for the Smithsonian. If you find something, it will be bagged and your name will be attached as a founder. First Saturday every month. Read website ahead.
