The first time I went to sell clothes, the two girls were very rude. I walked in with a box and up to the counter and the girl standing there didn't say a word to me. Then finally the other one asked what I needed and I said to sell these clothes. They were very snooty and told me it would take 45 minutes to get started on it. I didn't know what kind of things they take or how their system works. Of course they did not take the time to explain anything to me; and told me that they weren't going to take anything I brought. I had everything nicely folded and they tossed it all back in the box without care, and like the other review said did not bring the box back up to me. I tried again a little while later with a small bag of the nicest jeans I had. This time two different girls were quite a bit nicer; which is why they get 2 stars instead of zero. I did not have time to stay and wait, so I decided to do a drop off. But again nobody explained that policy point to me. They called me later that night and told me that they only wanted one pair of jeans and to give me $3 for them. They are a brand new pair expensive brand with the tags still on. Oh and they wanted me to pick up the rest of the bag that night. I didn't have time to do that. That's why I dropped them off in the first place. Now it is Sunday and they are closed and I don't know what they've done with my bag and if I can get those jeans back since I'm not selling them for $3. And still no one has explained how the...
Read moreI saw this place's advertising flag saying "cash for clothes" and I had a nice pair of dress pants that I no longer wore which I wanted to sell. I went there on a Sunday and the lady at the cash register looked at the pants and told me to come another day because they don't buy or take donations on Sundays. I asked if in general it's worth bringing clothes to sell or donate. The answer was very very wishy-washy and the best I understood was "yes maybe get a few dollars or a donation slip for tax write-off". So I tried again on a Tuesday out of curiosity. A completely different girl now looks at the same pair of pants and tells me to fill out a form because I need to be a member in order to sell. I ask why I need to become a member and she says "just cuz that's how it's done". As I finish filling out the membership form, she looks at the pants once more and says "sorry our policy is we can't buy dress pants because they won't sell". Then I ask about donating and she says they don't give donations slips. Finally I say I saw the sign outside says "cash for clothes" and that's why I came in. The lady now shurgs and walks away.
This place might be alright for trying your luck and finding something good. Maybe. But for selling (or donating) clothes, I'm suspicious of their advertising flag and I'm definitely suspicious of their customer service. I would NOT recommend Runway...
Read moreThis place is okay, but I’m only giving it 2 stars for a few reasons. I’ve sold a few times in the past few months to try and support what I think is a small business and I’ve brought in some pretty nice things some brand new 60-100 dollar dress still have tags on them and each trip I get an average of 2 dollars and item regardless of the quality etc.. now I don’t care too much about the money bc it’s stuff that would go to goodwill otherwise but I know they will a pretty penny on some of the stuff and a lot of people do care about the money. They also don’t buy on the weekends which can be rough for ppl who work. The staff is also very young and opinionated on what they will take. I get it that they want what’s hip but crop tops are not forever some people do like to be covered. I for one couldn’t buy anything in that store bc I wear a large-XL and they don’t buy that size. I think the store needs some work and maybe some more adults and it would have more success. I love thrifty shops but there’s nothing there I would buy...
