I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant experience. I went to Texas Road House with my family for my birthday. We made a reservation ahead of time for 8 people and 2 children. When we got there (on time) we verified with multiple hostesses that we needed a table for 10, 8 adults and 2 children. They kept saying "yup we have you in the system you are all set." In spite of having a reservation we had to wait about 15 minutes for our table. When they took us back they tried to seat us at a table for 8 people with no room for the 2 kids. We told them this was not going to work and the response was "well to get a table with enough seats you'll have to wait 45 min." We didn't want to wait that long so we asked for any other options. They didn't have any answers so we came up with our own. We picked two booths across from each other in a corner so that we at least were able to sit in the same general area. We still had to yell across the isle to have any sort of communal conversation.
When we finally figured out our own seating arrangement with no help from staff, we got to ordering. We had one waitress take our orders with seemingly no issue. However, she came back shortly after saying they were out of sweet potatoes (half our party ordered a sweet potatoes) but they were making more so those might be a little delayed. Not too big of a problem. Well because of this issue, it led to them losing our ticket....? Three different waitresses attempted to bring our food but it was either a dish no one ordered, they said the wrong name of a dish so we thought that was right but it actually wasn't, they would bring back a dish but it would be missing several items. All in all they had to take back 9 out of the 10 dishes we ordered because they were wrong and some even having to be taken back twice. The waitresses were not communicating at all so everything just got jumbled and was a complete mess. When they finally got them right we were getting our food at all different times so part of us were done before the other got their food. When they brought us the check we still had not received our ordered sweet potatoes. Our main waitress was completely oblivious to the fact that we had not gotten them. At this point we have 2 restless kids and 8 annoyed adults, we just wanted to leave. When we mention we had not received them yet she said let me go grab them. We waited. She came back and asked if we were all good and we again mentioned the sweet potatoes. She again said she would go get them. We ended up having to wait 15 more min for them to arrive. With this entire fiasco we didn't even get so much as a small discount for all the ciaos and neither did the manager make any appearance to aid or apologize in any way. NOT ONLY that but the table that was behind us was also having order issues and they only had 2 adults and 2 kids.
I would never recommend this location. The staff is not competent enough to handle large or even medium parties. The manager is very absent and the customer service...
Read moreWe went here for my father’s early birthday dinner, since we had not come in a while. Everything about this location was great. Our booth was clean and in a nice area, and our waiter was extremely nice and professional. At one point, he let us know when our orders would be out, something that I don’t think I’ve ever encountered at a restaurant before. He got us extra bread and refills without us requesting—I’m sure that’s probably standard procedure here, but it was still great. The food was hot and just as requested, and the wait didn’t take too long. My sirloin was cooked perfectly, which was medium like I asked for. Same with my mother’s, although she gets hers well-done. It was a fun experience, and I’m glad we could celebrate my dad’s birthday in advance and have such a pleasant time.
Rolls: 9/10. This is some of the best free bread I’ve had at a restaurant. It comes out as soon as you sit down and is incredibly warm and soft to the touch. It’s buttery and sweet, and the cinnamon butter goes amazing with it. I love this bread, it was hard to regulate myself. Very fluffy and comforting.
Rattlesnake Bites: 8/10. This is a pretty good appetizer when they’re fresh and hot. When they’re cooled off, the cheese inside becomes thicker and more solidified, which takes away from eating them in terms of texture. However, when warm, the cheese inside has the kick from the jalapeño, a gooey touch, and decadent flavor. The sauce adds to it even more, but it stands strong just by itself.
Cheese Fries: 7/10. Not bad. They’re average steak fries with melted cheese and bacon, they tasted just as expected. I barely ate any of the cheese anyway, and just a few pieces of the typical bacon bits that came with it. Nothing to write home about, although the fries are seasoned quite well, taste good, and are crispy by themselves.
Medium Sirloin: 8/10. Not bad for a steak. It tasted a little dry on the inside, but was cooked as I wanted and didn’t disappoint. It was an average steak that wasn’t very juicy, but hit the spot and was filling nonetheless. Meaty and tender, as a medium-cooked sirloin should be.
Green Beans: 8/10. These are some good green beans for a side at a restaurant. They’re very flavorful and warm, and surprised me with how they actually tasted better than I was expecting. They’re seasoned nicely and are juicy, too, a factor I never considered in how I like my green beans. I don’t even like green beans all that much.
(I also ordered a side of buttered corn, but...
Read moreLast night my partner and I went to get a late dinner, I didn't get off work til 9pm so we were looking for a place we could go enjoy a beer and good food. We showed up at 9:30 when the location closes at 11pm . We order appetizers, two side salads and beers. Trying to make the order easy for the server so he could get ahead on side work and what not.
-He didn't get the beer until my husband asked again, he blamed it on the bartender. When we could see the beer -He has someone else come take our order, when we were fine with, but she informed us that they were out of rattlesnake bites, we order the combo plate, shrimp , and hot wings. So we order wing, potatoe skins, and fried pickles. When the combo plate came out they had chicken cridders on the plate in replacement of the wings( they did not tell us) I pointed it out to our server he tried to claim the chicken cridders and boneless wings are the same thing. I told him no I use to work at Texas road house and they are not the same I then let him know we are still waiting on our hot wings He comes out and say yes so we are out of the hot wings but the chicken cridders are the same thing. I told him no they are not while my soda and my husbands been was gone. Didn't offer anymore. We were sat in the long booths right in front of the bar area m we were also his only table. Now it's a little past 10pm still an hour left before close As someone who worked in the food industry from a long time I know our order was simple and for an hour left before close this is insane When I tell him I don't feel like we should pay for the combo and we don't want the wings he did take off the wings and gave us the military discount - not taking of the combo plate that was poorly made and Items wrong I knew the manger probably was super busy so we paid and left. I still tipped this awful server $5 cause I know how it is to be a server but dear lord, I love going to Texas road house it remained of great memories and the food is normally on point but this was insanely awful service and even the entry way to the service line was nasty!!!!! Garbage overflowing we're the plate prepping was , food all over the ground. And our fried pickle and potatoes skins over cooked under the lamps. Food service has to awful if I am that shocked to leave a bad...
