Was assigned spot S1 and had multiple issues.
sewer drain is up hill. In talking with my neighbor, the three spots they had S2, S3 and S4 all had the same issue. In draining the black and grey tanks, it takes some hose manipulation. Poor design for the park!!!
one of the reasons we booked Isla Blanca was because WiFi was available and I would be able to work from the RV for a few days. Upon check in I was told to follow the instructions on one of the sheets of paper they gave me and if there are any issues to call the number of the internet service provider (G5 Internet). After setting up the RV I sat down to try and connect and none of the WiFi spots listed were there. The open one that were available would no allow connections. I called G5 and was told that they would have to send someone out “sometime next week”. I explained my situation and there was a lack of concern from the person since (I am assuming) it was almost 7pm on a holiday weekend. I called the park office back and was left on hold then hung up on 3 times.
spot S1 is right under a streetlight and shines in all night long. The S section backs up to gulf side loop and gets noisy.
the restrooms near the C436-457 section were a mess. In the men’s one stall would not shut and lock. The other had toilet paper and water on the floor and (no joke here) some foul person left their excrement on the toilet seat.
the beach was beautiful fist thing in the morning. When we went in the afternoon, we found that previous people had left their trash (kids toys, juice box, water bottle). I was raised to leave the place you are camping to be in better shape than when you got it. On our way out we picked up the trash of others.
I see that they are improving the boardwalk area. That’s great but if you plan on camping, go somewhere else. I would put a lower...
Read moreI recently visited Cameron County park for the first time and had an incredible experience. I rented an RV spot for two nights and opted for dry camping. I must say, it turned out to be an excellent choice!
First and foremost, the cleanliness of the place left a lasting impression on me. The staff takes great care to maintain the grounds, ensuring a tidy and pleasant environment. It's always refreshing to find a location that prioritizes cleanliness.
One of the standout features of this RV park is its proximity to the ocean. The picturesque views were breathtaking, and being able to wake up to the sound of crashing waves was a truly soothing experience. The ocean provided a sense of peace and tranquility that made the stay even more memorable.
Another highlight of this location was the clear view of the SpaceX Starship landing pad. As a space enthusiast, being able to witness the activities of such an innovative company added an extra layer of excitement to my stay. The sight of the Starship launches and landings was truly awe-inspiring.
Although my visit was short, I am already planning to return for a longer stay in the summer. The thought of spending more time in this beautiful setting, exploring the surrounding area, and enjoying the oceanic views fills me with anticipation.
In conclusion, my first experience exceeded my expectations. The cleanliness, stunning ocean views, and proximity to the SpaceX Starship landing pad make it a standout location for RV enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and look forward to returning in the...
Read moreStayed at Isla Blancs RV Park November to December 31, 2024. Full hook ups. Water/sewer 50 amp. Sites are large enough for 40 foot motorhome, car trailer and vehicle. Golf cart friendly park. Direct access to walk to the beach. Space X launch site visible 5 miles to the south right from within the park. Be forewarned that for space launches or other activities (boat launch, fishing from jetty or shore) the public can also enter the perimeter of the park as well so during space launches there is a lot of traffic. The cable tv is suspect for being able to be used, ours never worked Their infrastructure for utilities including not only cable but for water and sewer is in need of upgrade. RV sites are different than any other rv park as you have to pull in to connect to hookups. Otherwise be prepared to have extra hose if you back in. Double and triple check that you have the correct site # or you may be setting up only to have tear down and shift one site to the right like we did. Unfortunately they should mark the sites on the pavement or explain it on check in but they don't. But the price is right. Also last couple of days of December and beginning of January is not good day to leave or come into the park as there is so many others coming in. If you stay at the park your pass also gives you free access to other county parks in the system as well as vehicle beach access North of town at beach access road 5 and 8. All in all we will...
