Absolutely horrendous customer service, due to personal reasons I had to move away from the state and in no position to continue my membership, my friend was in the exact same position as me and was able to cancel no problem, but according to the "manager" at this location, the owner who is according to her "not as nice" told her 5 minutes prior to my call (which I had called yesterday and left a voice mail that was never returned nor even listened to) that she was no longer able to do anything about a cancelation. She (Keara Kersy) was highly unprofessional, kept talking over me as I very calmly explained the situation, and kept being highly dismissive and extremely rude in her tone. Do not recommend this establishment, as even the "manager" (Keara) said the owner Michael Murphy is very rude and not understanding of situations. Keara also told me at the very beginning it was supposed to be a 3 month fulfillment before I could cancel per the contract, but by the end of it, and I quote, "okay now it's a year". I should've known the type of service I'd receive when even the manager of this location is talking trash about the owner over the phone. Read moreWhen I initially signed up, I was told and reassured my contract was month to month. After a few months I decided to cancel and was told I was signed for a year. The woman I spoke to then told me I could freeze for 6 months at a time and after a year, I could cancel because those months would count toward my contract. After a year, I went to cancel and found out that wasn’t true and I had been lied to again. A few months went by and they called mid Dec that my CC didn’t go through. I said I had been out of town and have been struggling canceling my account. She said if I gave her a new card she would cancel my account over the phone. The next week I started getting emails and calls saying my account t was overdue. Due to the holidays, no one was staffed and I couldn’t get through. I spoke to someone at the branch Jan 5th who told me her hands were tied and that I needed to reach the owner, Mike Murphy. However, I’ve called and left messages with no return. Corporate said it’s up to the branch but u can’t get in touch with anyone. It is very difficult to get in touch with limited staff hours. Sketchy...
Read moreIt's almost Dec 1. Gym was supposed to reopen in November. Hurricane was 10/8-ish. Looked inside - doesn't appear it's close to reopening. Owners response to my comments above are "We has a hurricane. It devastated the gym. We tried to sell whats left and in the end even give away the gym to another franchisee for FREE to rebuild. Unfortunately the landlord will not reassign the lease to the new owner. We had a hurricane you may have heard."
My new response - After the storm the sign on the door read "will reopen in 2 weeks". Then a new sign appeared "will reopen end of November" then "middle of December". Now it's......I'm not sure exactly what he is trying to say. There has to be insurance coverage both on the equipment and on the facility itself. Everyone else has reopened or is working diligently on their facility in that shopping center. Nothing going on at AF - S. Pasadena. There seems to be something strange going on here.
