This happened at the South Pasadena Quest Diagnostics location. I took the morning off from work for my appointment and after being called into the room I gave the phlebotomist my lab orders then sat there in silence for roughly 10 minutes while she did something on the computer. She never said a word. When she was finally ready to draw my blood I told her that it’s usually difficult for some people to find a vein on me. So she starts looking around and instead of going in the usual spot (opposite side of elbow) she went into the delicate inner forearm between my elbow and wrist with the thickest needle I’ve ever seen anyone use on me. She JAMMED it in so forcefully I kind of flinched (normally if they have to fish for a vein it doesn’t even bother me) but she hit something and when I flinched a little she said sarcastically “sorry u gotta give blood”. She then gave up there because she missed and went to the back of my hand where she proceeded to once again jam it in so hard it almost came out thru the other side. She hit some kind of nerve or something this time and I breathed in really hard to keep from flinching from the pain and I asked her if she could find someone else who is good at finding veins. She said “ you know what? You’re gonna have to come back because we can only stick you twice” I TOOK THE MORNING OFF TO COME HERE BUT I HAVE TO COME BACK BECAUSE SHES BAD AT HER JOB??? So I had to make another appt for Saturday 7/19 which went smooth as silk. The phlebotomist was so good I didn’t even feel the slightest pinch and she got it on the first time. So whoever the woman was I had on Wednesday was the worst ever. Her attitude was disgusting and now I’m not even sure if my doctor will have my labs by the time of my appointment on Tuesday because she’s not good at her job and wouldn’t find someone who is Update: even worse attitude with the woman today. At least this one got my blood (on 2nd attempt) but her attitude was horrible. She’d cut me off anytime I said anything as if she didn’t even hear me talking. Tried to tell her where the spot they have success with was it, told me to put the other arm up instead before I could finish. Couldn’t find it so she went to the spot I tried telling her to go to the 1st time and she got it. She never said “here we go” or nothing, just jammed a needle in with no warning. Must be Mgmnt of this office bcuz bad attitudes trickle down a lot of times. I’m going to a different location from now on even tho this...
Read moreI have to have blood drawn 4-6x per year and today was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The girl was not friendly at all and I sat there for 5 minutes in the chair while she fiddled with the computer (I gave her the lab orders already). Remember, I am fasting and already irritable because I haven’t had coffee or even a cracker yet (I HAVE to eat breakfast or else I get light headed and queasy). She finally starts looking for a vein then decides to put it in the side of my arm. I don’t care if they have to fish for veins but omg she JAMMED it in the delicate part of my inner arm above the wrist, then proceeded to take it in and out and go in different directions until she must’ve hit a nerve or something and the pain was like fire and electricity. Then she went to my hand which has clearly visible veins and start jamming and poking until once again she hit something that caused extreme pain. I asked if she could find someone else who is good at finding veins and she tells me they’re only allowed to stick me twice and I’ll have to come back another day… I work til midnight every night and the next 2 days I’m working from 9am to midnight so I can only come back on a Saturday. This was so inconvenient, and she never apologized. When I flinched after she hit a nerve she said sarcastically “sorry u have to give blood”. She was the absolute worst. This was at the south...
Read moreI stopped by to drop off a fecal blood test. When I arrived about two or three weeks ago, at this location, to drop it off, in the morning early, there were maybe 12 people waiting around frustrated. The two computers in the lobby were malfunctioning– there are only two. When people were typing, it wasn’t typing correctly.
And their business model is not to have any desk interface with customers.
People were very frustrated. Very. I left, knowing that I could mail off the sample that I was going to hand deliver. And yet…
I drove directly to the post office on 66th, and put the test in the mailbox using the mailer provided by Quest.
Three weeks later… They apparently lost the test. Because my provider, who pre-completed the forms, never got the results.
Something’s broken here. In a big way.
Not only was the local place broken. But if I recall, the mailer was sent to the Tampa main location. And they mishandled that.
I assume that Corporate reads these reviews. If they don’t, it would be a staggering misjudgment.
I’m sure they’re not picking on me. But you’ve got to wonder how common these errors are.
Now I get to retake the test. Not the end of the world. But still… A giant waste of time.
To be fair, I did have blood work done here previously, and that went...
