It is KIND of a grand view if you don't stand too close to the rail and look down to see all of the industrial stuff below. But, get creative and back up a bit. Have a seat on the grass on the berm or the bench that is there facing the river. Then the view is grander. There is a playground for children and some nice homes around the block for a walk. Also, there is an eagle's nest just north of the park in one of the trees and you can often see one of them land with or without a catch from the river.
