Order furniture the beginning of August. We were told 2-3 weeks mainly for one bedroom set, the other stuff was available. Every time I call to follow up it gets pushed out 2-3 weeks. I get delays with shipping but had I know it would be this bad up front I would have went else where. When I call to check in(as I have been told to do by staff) it seems most do not care about the issues, but why would they when they already have the money. I have bought stuff from here several times and until now have been happy. I will not be back after this.
Last week(Thursday) I was told the final peice was set to deliver this week. Today I was told it will be another 1 to 1.5 weeks to deliver it as they over booked the truck(not my fault) and then expect another 1 to 1.5 weeks for delivery. Putting it out to about 8 weeks at best to receive the furniture. This is very different then the 2-3 weeks we were told in the beginning. In cases like this it would be nice if they offered to deliver the stuff they do have in instead of holding it to try and make up for the discrepancy.
I would not recommend this place. How does it go from being delivered this week to at best 3 weeks in a matter of a couple of days? Also there has been NO communication from the store unless I am calling and pressing the issue. This wasn't a small order money wise. The company should be doing something to make it right.
Updated 9/14/22: a very helpful man reached out and worked to get the situation fixed. He was responsive on following through and calling back. Much better then getting hung up on- hopefully he gets credit fornfixingnissues and the not so polite staff take a pointer to two from him. Furniture was delivered and put together today. The delivery team was decent, quick amd put things exactly where I asked. There are a couple of issues with some of the stuff but it is on the manufacturer not Royal Star. Read moreThis place has by far the cheapest, good quality furniture. And I get that is why they have tons of orders. That being said, before you make a commitment to this place, here are some things you need to know. I ordered a couch in July(during covid), they told me 3 weeks. Ok. 3 weeks later I go back in to order a bedroom set and check on my couch order, they said another 4 weeks. I also told my family about this place and got them 2 more orders of the same couch and some other furniture bringing them in more business. It’s Sept now, called and they said end of Oct. Went in for my third time and they said end of Nov. It is now Nov and still nothing. Go back in today for my fourth time today to go cancel my couch order since we got one off Amazon. Not as good quality or big or as good of a deal but we were couch-less for far too long. I go in and they said Dec now for my bed set. My brother still hasn’t gotten theirs but they called and someone told them Dec 11. An actual date. Was talking to them and they were very defensive. I get it, it is because of covid. Trust me, I’ve looked EVERYWHERE. No one has such a good deal like this place. What makes me upset is that they were very defensive and not transparent with their customers in the first place. Could have saved me a deal of time. Very not compassionate. Maybe cause they have so much business, but I’m just warning you, if you want to wait half a year for a couch or just spend a little more at other places, go for it. Also, they need to salt their side walk/road right before the door. Very icy, just a law suit waiting to happen. Read moreI ordered my couch on May 3rd, 2020. They told me it would arrive in the middle of June. On June 1st, I received a called stating the couch would be delivered between July 10th-July 17th. A couple weeks later, my wife called and was told it would be delivered on Friday, July 17th.
On July 17th, I called in the morning to follow up on my order because I didn't want to miss the delivery. The lady that answered the phone was incredibly rude and behaved as though I was bothering her. She asked for an invoice number and said they go by "paper and pencil" twice, and upon me saying I didn't have it (at the moment) said, "it will take a while to look it up in the computer and will call you back." I waited 5 hours and because I still had not receive a phone call, I called back again to follow-up. The same lady answered my call. I provided my invoice number at that point and she said she would call me back. When I asked when I should expect a call back, she scoffed at me and said 15-20 minutes. Never received a call back from her.
I understand that the world has changed with COVID-19 and we are all stressed but human compassion, integrity and respect should never lack. I have worked in customer service in over 30+ years and never have I experienced such disrespect, uncaring and rude treatment from someone who is in the service industry.
UPDATE as of 5:15 p.m. on 7/17/20: Joshua from Royal Furniture called and provided an updated on the order. He explained my order was pushed out again to 8/7/2020. He was thorough, communicative and compassionate. Explained that they had resource constraints. Thank you Josh...
