AMC Tilghman Square 8 — Attraction in South Whitehall Township

The night before mothers day I went on line to stubs and bought tickets for snatched at 10:15 on Mothers Day. I was wondering why I couldn't reserve my seat as a stubs member but thought it was a glitch in the system and I would get there early to get the seat I wanted. My wife and I arrived at 9:45 and were the first ones in line when the doors opened at 10:00. I showed the worker who opened the door my text confirmation for the movie and he says that's no good we are now new vision theaters and you are at the wrong theater he informs us that the theater we want is off airport road in Allentown. So after driving 30 miles to a theater that I have been using for years now I drive 10 miles back to find the new AMC theater which by the way is call Car Mike and it is behind a shopping center down a road that looks like it was bombed. We were late for the movie the theater was dark and had a musty odor with no reclining seats. Needless to say not a good experience on Mothers Day for my wife. I went on AMC website emailed my complaint not once but twice before I received a reply that said sorry for the inconvenience and if I wanted to discuss the matter call this 800 number. I called the number got a very nice customer rep on the phone and explained what happened. You can imagine my surprise when she told me that AMC theaters and New Vision had merged and they should have allowed my wife and I to see the movie at the original theater. Their website doesn't give any information about this and the workers apparently weren't informed so I will not be patronizing AMC, New Vision or Crummy Car Mike theaters again. Cinemark...

I typically go to movies a week or two after release in hopes the theater will not be so crowded. Despite this, the last few films I have seen at AMC theaters treated me to excellent seats on the far right of the front row. I cannot tell you how thrilling it is to almost see up Bruce Willis's trench coat while everyone else was looking him in the eyes. I also have a handful of medical issues that tend to make public venues unfavorable, so most movies involve taking medication in a way that could best be described as eating a handful of trail mix. Rest assured, none of them are psychiatric. They all relate to pain, asthma, and digestive management. I cannot tell you how comforting it is to then have a small child kicking the back of my seat, if not trying to look between them to see if any of the Sour Patch kids he was trying to catch in his mouth could be recovered from their actual landing point. That said, I was able to pick out comfortable seats in a theater spaced well enough so I was not playing Santa to some unknown child that was, much like he would at any mall, posing for a photo being taken by his mother during the opening credits of Spiderman. For those with attention spans that are as short as the concession stand lines at this theater, I am saying it is a worthwhile experience. While it can rattle even the most steadfast decision makers to select a seat, at least it is not done in a style reminiscent of middle school dodge ball. You already know the final score. I went tonight to watch migrate with my family. 11 of us was requested to leave the theater because someone complained that me and my husband were recording the movie. I told them to search me and my husband because our cellphones are inside our bags. We are not newbies in America. We are amc member and was enjoying our visit to Pennsylvania after Christmas. We drove from New York to PA to enjoy a movie with our family until we felt mistreated and discriminated by our race and profiled. This neighborhood is all white and being racial on us. We have been quiet watching the movie with all our children. We have been embarrassed inside the movie theater and was told we cannot go on our next movie and has to leave the theater when we didn’t do anything wrong. I asked them to show us the proof that we were recorded and they told us that it is illegal to show us. I will never come back in this kind of neighborhood that doesn’t welcome anyone but white. I have been in America since 2003 and I have never felt racism anywhere. This is the first time I have felt it and I will make sure that this will not happen to others. God bless America. That doesn’t mean God bless only white people. We all have the same blood that travel in our veins. It’s Red. Stop racism. These are the people that accused us.
