I just had a very interesting experience with this theater and I have to share because the customer service I experienced was unreal. This evening I purchased 2 tickets to a Nosferatu showing at the Sandhills 10 when I meant to purchase them for the Lumina Theater in Chapel Hill (both theaters sells tickets on the same website, don't make the same mistake I did!) I called the Sandhills 10 to ask about a refund/return since their website says you can do this before the movie start time/date. The girl I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant but told me they were unable to refund tickets unless I came in person (which I knew wasn't worth doing since I live in Chapel Hill and driving to Southern Pines would cost me the same amount in gas as the refund for the tickets). After hanging up with the employee on the phone (again, she was kind and apologetic) I was still unhappy with this (especially in this economy, I was bummed/annoyed to say the least). I ended up leaving a lengthy and poor google review (which I have since taken down) describing my disappointment with Sandhills 10 and the lack of accommodation. While I shouldn't have taken out my frustrations that way, I received a call NOT 10 MINUTES AFTER LEAVING MY POOR REVIEW from the assistant general manager at Sandhills 10!! She called about my google review and sincerely apologized for what I experienced. She issued a refund for me immediately and let me know that they are currently implementing an online refund system so that this doesn't occur again. After paragon closed we were sure hoping another theater would take it over. Paragon had remodeled and was hit hard by covid. Sorry they lost the lease right after it opened up again. Enter CAROLINA theatres! We went to see TOP GUN MAVERICK and the theater was clean, seats were comfortable, bathroom was very very nice and clean, they had plenty of help to handle the crowd coming in and a wide assortment of snacks to choose from. For the kids the slushee machine was working !! The pleasant young man said they were looking into beer and wine coming as he scooped out the popcorn which was hot and fresh! All staff was very polite....and happy it was busy. We will definitely return and I want to see their reward program (they said they were working on it) as of course right when I had enough through paragon for a free popcorn they closed!
