tl;dr: I used to work at Xcell Repair and I highly recommend them for repairing your electronic devices.
I worked for Xcell Repair Plus for 2 years, from May of 2021 to May of 2023. I cannot fully express how incredible of a service this small business provides to this community. Xcell is THE PLACE to go to in Moore County and surrounding areas for repairs on smartphones, tablets, computers, and game consoles. All of the local carriers and big box stores refer to Xcell for taking care of your electronics. I would share stories myself, but there's already tons of testimonies in the other reviews on this page to read through about the great services Xcell has provided. From replacing screens, to soldering HDMI ports, to making custom PCs, to wiping viruses, to saving lost pictures and videos, to cleaning bug-infested consoles, to rebuilding phones from the ground up, to shipping across the country, and everything in-between, Xcell Repair Plus has helped thousands upon thousands of customers with repairing their devices.
The owner, Curtis, is retired from the Army and has owned and operated Xcell Repair Plus since 2011. His experience makes him a wealth of knowledge when it comes to repairing consumer electronic devices. If you have any question regarding a device that you own, Curtis has the answer or knows where to find it. He's also been great to work for. He's understanding and flexible with scheduling and is fair with giving tips directly to technicians. It was a great atmosphere where all of my coworkers and I got along with no issues. Meagan, Dane, and Martin are the other employees currently working at Xcell Repair, and they are also great at what they do. All of the employees are well equipped with the knowledge and friendliness needed to help customers. Curtis is a great mentor who taught us all how to do repairs on the devices we encounter daily.
Curtis runs an honest business that's fair with pricing and honest with time estimates. When there are any complications with repairs, Xcell Repair takes responsibility and does their best to work with customers through delays. They're always evolving with technology by fixing the latest devices on the market and finding new tools to make repairs more efficient. While they're not capable of fixing every device you may own (smartwatches, TVs, speakers, and obsolete devices to name a few), they will do their best and are honest when they can't. Diagnostics are almost always FREE, meaning you pay nothing when Xcell can't solve your issue. Most of the time, Xcell Repair is able to beat to cost and timeframe of repairing your device through the manufacturer (like Apple or Samsung) or through insurance. They keep parts on hand for common fixes and order parts at least twice a week to get repairs done quickly. Xcell makes sure to get the highest quality parts available for devices and automatically holds warranties on almost everything. They truly are a repair business, not a sales business. They do not sell any devices so there's no incentive for them to sell you something you don't need (unlike big wireless carriers and box stores). They are even humble enough to tell you when it would be cheaper and easier to purchase a new device rather than fix your current one.
I can't stress enough how great of a small business this is to support. If you want your devices fixed, trust Curtis and the team at Xcell Repair Plus to get them fixed quickly...
Read moreI brought a nintendo switch here to just have the charging post fixed because it was a bit askew (still charged perfectly fine). I specifically asked if it was entirely necessary and they insisted that it was. After I left it with them I received a call informing me that they had accidentally damaged the mother board and had to replace the entire thing. I was told there would be no charge and when I came to pick it up they charged me for the original charging port fee. I asked about being told that there would be no charge and they, "yeah, we aren't charging you for the motherboard" No duh! YOU BROKE IT! No all of the save data and games on the system are lost and the SD Card needs to be reformatted to work. Everything lost and they charged ME! I am making it my personal mission to e sure that none of my clients, friends or family ever use this business. You destroyed my Switch and I payed you $80 for it!
In order to address the owner's response, I left your shop in a net negative and payed you $80 for it. I am preparing a civil suit so I hope you haven't deleted your...
Read moreI would give 5 stars but there’s two things. I have an IPhone 6S and it cost me $106. I’ve gotten it done in a previous state I lived in for $80 so a bit more expensive than what I’ve paid before but not a big deal. I was quoted $90 and was told it came out to the final price with tax. So about the same as if I were to go through Apple but have away better wait time! Took only 30 minutes and super easy drop off and pick up with 0 wait (I went on a weekday). I will say the only thing I didn’t like is I provided my passcode to test the phone screen after replacement (They ask if you want to but if not it’s not a big deal) and my fingerprint was removed from the phone. Resulting in several of my apps that I use the fingerprint log in for easy access (bank app, Starbucks, App Store purchasing, etc.) to make me have to put my passcodes in automatically. Not a big deal as I have my passcodes written down to all my accounts but still a bit of an annoyance. It’s an easy fix to just reregister my fingerprint but I felt is worth noting and to take into...
