This is probably my guilty pleasure store to shop at. I will drive 15 mins just to avoid going to the krogers I'm surrounded by.
Sometimes, the fruit is moldy, so be sure to triple check them all and make sure you don't end up sad like I have been in the past.
Prices have been a bit high lately, just like everywhere else.
Mperks is a blessing, and if you use that in combination with paper coupons, s current sales and redeeming mperks for cash off your next "basket"/purchase, you can end up saving a bunch of money you never thought was allowed.
Once you use mperks for a while, it learns your shopping habits and will gear great coupons your way, kind of as a "hey, thanks for being so frivolous and shopping here all the time, here's a little kickback sweetheart." Boom, cute hand selected secret coupons just for little ole you. Yes, they are going to select all of the items you usually purchase when you go grocery shopping and Yes, you will feel like a special little sassy pants. [Or you can get money off at the pump for gas, etc. ]
I really hate the you scans because they are wayyyy too close together, and there is absolutely no arm room, let alone cart room.
I don't like that people hate on me for having a full cart in the you scan line. Usually, there are only about 1-3 open "human" run registers. Their lines are always backed up through part of the clothing departments.
I'm 9 months pregnant, and i hate unnecessary attention. Im shy. I just want to try to get done as soon as possible without doing the whole awkward chit-chat thing, and I use multiple cards, so it takes longer with a human than doing it all...
Read moreService? Excellent. Smiles? Excellent. Helpful? Excellent. Signs? Good. Needs some work; store layout makes ceiling signs tough. Maybe try end posts. Correct info though. Why the one star? Within 30 minutes I was covered in hives. I thought, hey, I must have touched something I'm allergic to. Nope. It didn't start on my hands and arms. It started on my NECK and traveled down my back and stomach! The store is so utterly scented with fragrant toxic vocs (my only severe allergy is the ingredient Fragrance) that I broke out when I got towards the back where there was no fresh air. Employment locations offer fragrance free work places. They can't control the customers but at least it airs through quickly. NOT HERE. I had to throw out all the grocery bags which I generally recycle or use as trash bags because they HAD ABSORBED THE STENCH. I had to wash everything I could BEFORE I COULD PUT IT AWAY AND SHOWER. I had to put my food in vinegar water to reduce the smell and I'M SCARED TO EAT IT but I'm even more scared to return to return it! I would swap this one star to a 5 star in seconds if the store went fragrance free with their cleaners. 30% of the population reacts, although only 12% are as bad as me. If it were my fault for touching something, or my chance risking talking or exchanging items with a fragranced customer, it would be one thing. But this. This was a company that didn't account for Americans with Invisible Disabilities which by the way requires fragrance free accommodations (but only for employees, not for customers, so there's nothing I can do but rant and...
Read moreJan 2022: literally 30 u scans now, all full and huge lines at both big banks of them. Only 3 regular lanes open at rush time, and one doesn't even have the light on, meaning it was added last minute. All 3 have at least 12 people in line. Yep, I'm this close.... To going to 1 star. Sure you can buy lots of good stuff here, IF YOU CAN EVER CHECK OUT!
Jan 2021 update. Now down to 2 stars. Literally only 2 actual checkout lanes open, 10 people with full carts in line at each. Manager still won't open another. Though, to their credit, the 20 updated tech self checkout lanes seem to work better than the old ones did. But not if you have a FULL CART.
Jan 2020 Downgraded to 3 stars because in the last year they have now gone to 22 self check out machines, about only half of which are repaired / working correctly at any given time. There are never more than 4 real checkout lanes open, and usually only 2. I always ALWAYS have to wait in line now and I'm usually not even there when it's busy. Normally about 10am on weekdays. And when I finally do get to a cashier, they always have looks on their faces like I am inconveniencing them, by trying to protect their jobs and not allowing corporate Meijer to force me to be unpaid labor.
They still have good selections of almost everything I want, and good pricing. But I don't work there, and shouldn't have to check out my own stuff, and certainly shouldn't need to stand and wait in a 5 minute or more line to do it, when it's not busy, and finally get stinkeye from the...
