Since I saw the Panera TV commercial with the summer salads, the strawberry in particular, I have been eager to try it. So I placed my order online, cup of broccoli soup and small strawberry salad. And I went thru the drive-thru to pick it up. Going thru the drive thru was a bit confusing because when I arrived at the order screen I was told there was a 15 to 20 minute at the drive thru. I then explained I had placed an order online. It might help if the employee taking an order at the drive thru begin with: "Good Afternoon, are you picking up an order or placing an order?" After we determined I was picking up an order I was told to go to spot 3. Well there was some low lying pavement surrounding the drive thru lane. She said, "It's okay to drive over it." So I did and when I pulled back around to the front of the building, there was already a car in spot 3 so I pulled up to spot 4. The employee came out to deliver my food and went to spot 3. I opened my car door so she could see me. She brought the food and I said I couldn't get into spot 3 and she said that car was not supposed to be in that spot.
Upon returning to my office, I opened the bag and there was no spoon. And there was so little lemon poppyseed dressing in the container, which is smaller than your standard dressing side container. And as I was eating the salad I thought it would be better if it had a crunchy element to it. I went back online to the location where I bought lunch and sure enough, it said the strawberry salad should have been topped with pecan pieces and there none.
Shame on me I guess for trying to go to a popular place for...
Read morePanera at 28681 on Telegraph Rd, Southfield, MI 48034 - I wish I could give this location 0 stars. The person who took the order seemed to hate his job. The girl making the food seemed more concerned with complaining about being hot and scratching her head than making our order correctly. Which is probably why the Frontega Chicken Panini I ordered without oinions still had onions on it. Also why the Tuna sandwhich my husband ordered on a flatbread still came on sliced wheat bread. He cannot eat bread and told me I could just have his sandwhich because he could no longer eat it. Irritated with what happened, I called for a manager and was told by what sounded like a 13 year old child, "No manager is available". I asked how could a manager not be on site? She replied, that he was looking for staff coverage and too busy to even take my call. I was told to call back in an hour and he "might" be available... How about I just never visit this restaurant again. The staff was childish and rude, the managers unable to run a business, and the order prepared incorrectly and tasted gross. ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS TRASH!...
Read moreThe place is clean and there was no wait to order dine in. I had over $35 in gift cards and my bill came to 14 and some change. Their card machine seemed to be down for some functions yet they did not state this and it still worked for credit cards I was told. It would not accept either gift card my partial one or my new $25 one when I tried swiping them. Staff member was unwilling, saying they were unable, to type in number to redeem cards. I had this happen a few years ago for me as well and they typed in the card number at a Panera no problem. I called Panera's customer service number who verified I had $37.67 and that the store should be able to type in card number if swipe function of card did not work and there should be no problem with my cards. Ended up taking customer service's advice and just ordered online. The transaction and redemption of gift card went fine. Not much chicken on chicken salad sandwich ordered. Smoothie was good. I have had better experiences at other Paneras in past. Also the sandwich was $1 more ordered online...
