Shish Kabob Express — Restaurant in Southfield

I walk in and I say to my self nice clean place. Right off the bat I noticed there are no prices and I say that's kind of odd. I use to be a Mediterranean food chef so i know my way around any middle eastern food menu. My intent for coming to this place was to get a side of garlic sauce to go with my other dishes that I make at home. I asked for a decent large size enough for a four person family. The guy says ok that will be 9 dollars. I say wait a minute did I hear that right? He yeah 9 dollars. I said I frequent dearborn and dearborn heights i never get charged over 3 or 4 dollars. Then the guy tried to explain how he uses some type of concentrated garlic and some how it was different from any other middle eastern restaurant i've been to. He tried to convince me that his garlic sauce was some how worth 10 dollars and the best garlic sauce I've ever had and I know better than that. I wish I didn't have to give them 1 star but I had to just to write a review. I'm not going to pay almost 10 dollars for a condiment when I can take that same 10 and add it with a few more dollars and get a full meal. I know their garlic CAN NOT be that good judging by the other reviews that it's not better than my garlic sauce but rent is pretty high in southfield especially in the same parking lot...

I ordered a Spinach Fattoush Salad, with chicken this evening #306141. This was my 3rd time ordering from them. The 1st time a few months ago, my food was delicious, fresh, and seasoned very well. The 2nd time I went there about a month ago, my food was extremely greasy, and not seasoned well. They were extremely busy, that day. Today they were having some catered event inside their small restaurant, and apparently that catered event got the best food. They were also busy with regular customers. My salad looked like it was just thrown together. There were these huge leafs of spinach, instead of baby spinach, which is more edible for a salad. I had to cut these leafs of spinach up into smaller pieces. The same was for the tomatoes & cucumbers. There were huge chunks of each, that again I had to cut up, into smaller pieces. The spinach also had very long stems on them. All of this cutting up, I had to do, did not make for an enjoyable salad. I work nearby, and have eaten here several times. Today I was very disappointed with my experience. I ordered at the counter a shish tawook sandwich, a side house salad, and a 8oz lentil soup. The older guy with slimy combed back gray hair behind the counter charged me $16.70 - My initial thought was that sounds high, but perhaps he put me down for a full size lunch salad rather than side. I was hungry so actually didn't mind. After my food was ready I left and returned to work. My salad was definitely the side small salad. I went on there website and the three things I ordered should have came to $12. Be careful with them.....you'll notice they don't put their prices in the restaurant and will over charge you if they think they can get away with it. - Will never return, even though I like...
