My overall experience of going in to get my phone fixed a couple of weeks ago was very positive. The staff was responsiveness to my needs and took responsibility for some of their mistakes, which denotes that they are trustworthy and that Trey Cohen, the store manager, takes his duties seriously and upkeeps a high standard of service at the Southfield location in Metro Detroit.
Two weeks ago, I went in with a simple problem: the screen on my phone was a little bit unhinged after my phone suffered from a fall. The employee on duty was very pleasant and helped me out very efficiently. He even offered to switch my battery once we realized the battery had an issue as well. However, upon changing my battery, the phone started malfunctioning. He refunded me the price of the original repair and told me to return to the store the day after. Upon returning the next day, he ran many tests on the phone before admitting to me that the previous day, he had damaged the phoneâs motherboard while switching out the battery. I appreciated his honesty and Trey stepped in immediately to remedy the situation. He ordered me the same model phone online and told me to come back and pick it up the following week. They were very apologetic and relieved to see how calm I was about the situation.
Although the wait to get my new phone was a little long, when I went in the following week, they helped me upload everything onto the new phone. Trey stayed open after hours to make sure I was situated. He gave me free phone accessories: screen and phone protectors and a little phone stand. I was very thankful for his efforts to make sure I was satisfied with my experience. Trey is a great store manager and he runs a tight ship. Thanks guys for the help and the hook up! I will definitely be going back there if I ever need help...
Read moreEmployee was nice. But, dishonest service; wasted my time and money.
I brought my phone to this branch Because my screen randomly stopped working. They had previously put this screen on my phone that I paid for and it gives a 1 year warranty.
When i came in, they told me the phone was unfixable and I need to contact Samsung, even though there was no physical damage, I did not even drop my phone. So I called Samsung and they told me to take it back to them.
Later that same day I went to another branch of ubreakifix, and a technician there told me the phone is definitely repairable. The screen just has to be replaced. That made it clear the Southfield branch lied to avoid doing another warranty repair. I can understand it isn't easy taking a financial hit, but lying to your customers to the point where it ruins their day is awful ethics.
When I went back to speak with them about this, the manager admitted they had lied (because now hes admitting it can be fixed) but still refused to honor the warranty. He said they couldn't keep fixing this for free (even though the replacement screen they installed previously failed). He offered to âmeet me in the middleâ and charge $210 instead of $310 â rather than replace it under warranty.
Because they told me it couldnât be repaired, I spent hundreds of dollars on a new unlocked phone to keep working (GPS, work calls, emails). Horrible ethics. Avoid this location at all costs.
I decided not to get my phone fixed because I never want to give these people...
Read moreLMAO. Was told over the phone "Yeah, no problem, come on in! We'll have you set to go in 2 hours or less." To receiving a phone call 5 mins later saying, "Im sorry, I just checked (what he should have done when I called him and ASKED) we don't actually have the part you need, but our West Bloomfield store does! Just head on over there and they'll take care of you and have you fixed today." OK. Well, not fully trusting the guy, I asked for the West Bloomfield stores numbers and was told "Ill get that for you, but I already checked with them and they do in fact have it." OK. WELL, I called the other store and wouldn't you know it? THEY DONT HAVE THE PART EITHER. THAT I WAS ASSURED WAS IN STOCK. Im SUPER happy I dont trust people now-a-days, or I would have just spent over an hour driving to/from West Bloomfield for NOTHING. At the behest of an employee, who told me TWICE that the part was in stock at the other store. Well, to sum up the ending to this wonderfully stressful story, I have to have the part ordered in, but you better believe Im going to the West Bloomfield location. Seems to me that either the rep was lying, or was improperly trained at his position. Either of which should make you weary of choosing the West 12 Mile Rd location as your...
