Misrepresented service, lack of follow up, Fire hazard identified, Samantha owner was challenged/ took it personal and refused service.
I purchased a maytag washer and dryer which had to be stacked went to several different shops, spoke to Samantha. The co-owner of this place and she convinced me. I was concerned about service after a year and assured me that we take care of our clients.I quote her words. We'll take care of you after a year if something goes wrong her words.. I didn't expect anything for FREE I have made 3 calls to her store. And the service person there told me I needed to get a VENT person Out after I explained to them there was smoke going through the vents and I had no idea how long it had been going on since it was an outdoor vent. She agreed she knew of a person whos' salon burnt down, the last thing I wanted!! .. took the time 2 different people cleaned these vents out. The second man who came out made a comment about a part. He thought could be missing because of the small area where these 2 appliances were put, there was not room to add it. Is where the hose was attached. So why he was here. I had him talk to her directly on the phone since it wasn't anything. I understood. So he was willing to talk to her and have a conversation with her so we could clear it up...
When you're a consumer, you're not an expert, so you're relying on these people. And I had 2 people who seemed to know at least more than I did talking on the phone about an issue. I wasn't aware of and she was busy so she just said. I have to go after a few minutes. It wasn't resolved. She hang up, never called back. And I did leave her two messages.
Because there was a conflict about what the vent/ lint /part issue was she did not feel comfortable sending anyone nowđ¤Ż.. To fix my dryer which does not work now. But she said she would after the vent person cleared them out it the dryer needed service and I was willing to pay for service. I actually was shocked because I took the time and money to have this vent issue dealt with. Also her and her husband didn't approve of this guy who seemed very capable to me. It just got very weird from that point on. As now because of a point of contention occurred she doesn't feel comfortable sending a service person to my place after 3 weeks of going back and forth. And this is where i'm left with a dryer that doesn't work., As well as a fire hazard hanging over my head. Also, I'm dealing with the severe health issue now.Surgery in two weeks and this is the last thing I needed.
I purchased these 2 expensive appliances in anticipation of this very issue happening. On the website, one of their selling points is they services products that they sell.
20 years ago when I had my business. There was real customer service that existed.
Now if a person gets their feelings hurt or actually has to carry on a conversation about issues and there's a conflict forget about it it's almost impossible to find legitimate companies that provide good customer service. Considering my circumstances with a fire hazard involved and a dryer that doesn't function right uses twice the amount of electricity it should. I think there would be some sense of urgency wih these people, but there is not because they will not service me because they feel there was contention in our conversation. That is their choice and now mine is to leave a review on google and report this company to the BBB. There are people that do this professionally. Not me.This is an honest review and it's very upsetting to write it. 4/17/2025
I normally don't leave reviews.Everyone asks for them these days which is actually annoying but these people misrepresented themselves and what they have to offer tand people need to know that before they do...
Read moreI purchased a washer and dryer last march from them. In july the same year the washer stopped mid cycle full of water. The tech came out and removed an actuator stating he would be back in a few days to replace the part and further diagnose. I worked every day of the week twelve hour days so I just continued to use the washer over the months then it began leaking water every load. I called the store and told the lady about the previous visit and no-one ever getting back to me about the repair. She stated the tech left shortly after and they let my paperwork slip through the cracks. So she told me due to their mistake and me calling about it breaking four months after, she would cover the repair under warrany and sent a tech out to diagnose. He found the tub was cracked and the washer needed to be replaced and it was under warranty so we got lucky. Then I didnt hear back for a couple days and so I called them only for the manager to get on the phone and tell me the warranty was only a parts warranty or repair warranty not a replacement. So the great deal she decided to give me to honor some kind of business-customer relationship, she took 25 dollars off a three hundred dollar washer and free delivery. So they can make it right charging me 325 for a washer she just not even three days before told me was under warranty. Also, the outer tub is able to be replaced it just takes time and tub is costly. So it could have been repaired. For her to try and play me like she was doing me a favor instead of just taking more money doing absolutly nothing to honor her word just a few days ago is what got me upset the most. Not to mention she could repair the washer and make yet more off my misfortune. I found a place for used appliances and told him the situation. He found me a better washer and made sure to help us out total coming out to 275 delivered. I dont recommend going...
Read moreSargent's is the best. They are the only appliance sales and service people I would recommend in the Reno Sparks area.
I am 66 and have seen my share of washing machine repairs. We lost the bearings on our SpeedQueen during the last couple weeks of its warranty (a fluke, I think, because in my experience SpeedQueens last much longer and do not require much repair during their lifetime). After verifying our warranty with Alliance (SpeedQueen manufacturer) we called for service from the store where we had originally bought the machine. Unfortunately for us, that original store was not Sergent's. This other store was slow in making appointments, slow in ordering parts, did a bad repair job that ruined more parts on the washer, canceled the appointment they made to fix their bad repair job, and said that the additional work required was no longer under warranty -- not true, according to SpeedQueen.
After having our washer down for 2 months, we told SpeedQueen that we no longer had confidence in the original store and their repair department. Lucky for us, SpeedQueen suggested Sargent's. Sargent's people listened and were responsive. They went out of their way to help. No fake-nice, just real, professional care.
Their repairman Thadeus immediately saw that the washer brake had been put back in backwards, causing additional damage to the machine. Thadeus is a GREAT repairman. He knows his stuff (and, bonus, seems to like doing it, since he has a nice, positive attitude, no cursing while working). Thadeus repaired the whole mess, not stopping until everything was working. It has now been over a month since Sargent's literally rescued us, and the machine works perfectly.
The bottom line of this review is that I would give Sargent's whole staff ten stars if this site...
