I just had the worst experience I went to this market to get some stuff for the Thai soup I was making and I have social anxiety so I'm nervous being in an unfamiliar place. The gal was taking forever to check me out and she hands me my change doesn't count it back to me just hands it to me. I go to drive home and as I'm driving home I realized I forgot to get chicken broth so I stopped at Sak N Save and pick up two containers of it and when I get to the checkout stand I don't have enough to pay because the lady gave me back three ones instead of a 10 and 2 ones. So I put one back and then I drive back to the store and tell them that they made a mistake and only gave me three ones instead of a 10 and 2 ones, the guy totally humiliates me. He runs the video surveillance back and says that the tape shows proof that she gave me a 10 and two ones but you can't see the denomination of the bills and then he accuses me of lying and is yelling at me in front of the whole store and then I ask for a refund on the stuff I bought and they totally drag it out and just make a whole scene out of it. It was awful, I sat in the parking lot and cried before I could even drive home. I'm very careful with my money and I know without a doubt they made a mistake. All I had in my purse was a 20 and two ones. All I had in my purse was a 20 and two ones and when I got to Sak n save all I had was 5 ones. He was yelling at me about accusing his employees and I said of what making a mistake, we are all human. If it wasn't for my anxiety, I would have asked them to balance the drawer but at that point I simply wanted a refund...
Read moreWatch out! Beware when getting asian produce and other vegetables. When we came home after buying some and trying to clean and wash it, we found lots of bugs, snails and slugs to the point I got gross out and threw it all away. Never again will I buy asian vegetables from here. I would rather go down the street to the Vietnamese grocery store to get my asian vegetables. They at least clean and package their produce making sure it's clean for customers.
Update: I can say the same thing about you and your store. This is why your Kimchi is being recalled and was on the news. ( RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -The Washoe County Health District has advised the public to not eat certain kimchi from Yim’s Produce and Seafood in Sparks.
The spicy fermented cabbage made between Dec. 1, 2022, and Jan. 13, 2023, was not inspected, the health district said.
It was sold in quarter-gallon, half-gallon and 1-gallon containers from the store at 1210 N. Rock Blvd. and was also distributed to restaurants.
The kimchi was made in a facility that did not have a permit to make it, the health district said.) and I lied? Majority of you produce is not fresh but old wrinkly and has mold, so why lie? You mad because your store is getting inspected by the health department and have to pay a huge fined. No wonder you can't find workers, who wants to work for a horrible owner like yourself. Talk about Karma, Looks like Karma got you...
Read moreI have been shopping at YIMS Market for about 10 years, and the quality of their products has always been excellent. The owners and all of the staff are consistently kind and welcoming.
Two weeks ago, I stopped by here not realizing that my car had already been damaged elsewhere, and I received an incredible amount of help from them. The owner’s parents and the owner himself went out of their way to take care of us — they gave us lunch, provided a comfortable place to wait, and stayed with us during the three hours it took for the tow truck, police, and fire department to arrive. Their kindness and hospitality were unforgettable, and I truly felt cared for.
I am very grateful to them and feel bad for the trouble caused, but this experience confirmed once again how special this market is. I will continue to shop only at...
