Excellent place to workout... Or so I hear.
I just go there to shower. $10/mo for unlimited showers is a darn good deal. Idk if they are making money on my membership, but if so, ide bet they aren't making much.
If the 4 showers: 2 are usable. The handicap stall (big stall, far left) has been taped off for months. Unfortunately, thee shower head hose got torn off and the fancy adjustable height sprayer holder got partially torn off the wall. Stall 2nd from the left has a mixer valve behind the handle that is adjusted about 45° out of sync (no pun intended) so water only gets lukewarm in this one. Far right stall works finez... with the exception of the TWO times I've been showering in this stall and water went tap cold as soon as I put shampoo in. Twice isn't quite enough to say it's the shower at fault, but seems more than coincidental.
If your reasons for visiting are similar to my own (this means you, you unshowered homeless people š) here's some advice I suggest you remember:
UNHOUSED, URBANCARLIVING, and TRUCKER --- TIPS & TRICKS
There is a 110v wall outlet plugin below the hand wash counter to the lower left of the middle sink. If you are going to charge your phone, either use the little waiting area to the right of the entrance if you are standing on the outside of the front door. Half of this area is out of line of sight of employees at the front desk (not that u should care, I just like to be unnoticed sometimes), has a couple of chairs, table and a 110v outlet. 2 of the 4 walls are also made windows so it has a neat "in a bubble* feel, unfortunately the only view is If the parking lot. A decent place to people watch if you enjoy observing fellow brethren wild crackheads or gym baddies. If you are going to shower, don't want to sit at the previously mentioned waiting area, or want to charge your phone while you go do something else: plug your phone into the 110v outlet under the sink in the bathroom, set your phone on plumbing under the sink (so nobody can see it), and go do something. DO NOT BE JUST STANDING AROUND IN THE LOCKER ROOM BREATHING THE AIR while waiting for your phone to charge. It's just not a good look if you want to keep visiting.
Using a locker as a temporary storage unit IS FROWNED UPON... But not illegal. (Yet) I don't do this, but I theorize it would be possible to lock up cumbersome personal belongings for up to 36 hours in the lockers. This would be especially handy for unhoused individuals. Just know THEY WILL CUT THE LOCK and donate your s* inside that locker to the goodwill nextdoor if you occupy the same locker for an extended period. Usually they'll put a note on the locker a day or three in advance notifying you they'll cut the lock, but not always. Be sure to switch which locker you're storing your stuff in EVERY 36 hours or so. If you wanna be extra sneaky, buy two locks of different colors and switch locks every 36 hours as well. PICK TF UP AFTER YOURSELF. The employees have to deal with enough roided out dweebs and cleaning without your dirty socks, pocket lint and empty candy wrappers on the floor. DO NOT OPEN A LOCKER WITH SOMEBODY ELSES STUFF IN IT. I don't care who you are or what your reason is, if I or anybody else catches somebody rummaging thru a locker that obviously isn't yours (its always obvious that's not your stuff), I promise every gym bro in the locker room and within earshot will be "kindly" having a "talk" with you about how theft can be potentially hazardous to your physical health before escorting you to the front desk and making a call. The employees probably wouldn't be involved much. "Gym bros" are usually proactive towards justice In the gym. Lastly, nobody is bothered by you (us) only coming here to shower. Nobody cares. Nobody is going to kick you out if they find out you don't exercise. I've come here for years at this point, sometimes EVERY day for 6+ months consecutively. This is a place you (I) are allowed to exist in for the purpose of self care.
Hope this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI signed up for a membership when they first opened up and enjoyed the new equipment and clean gym environment. I think it is a very affordable gym and great for people new to working out. The gym just wasn't a good fit for me and I ended up signing up for a membership at another gym in town. I asked the front desk about canceling and they said that I couldn't cancel and I would just have to continue to make the payments until my year contract was complete. I asked about paying off in a lump sum what I owed to them for the next few months and they said I couldn't do that. They told me the best thing I could do was freeze my account for 3 months. I ended up doing that option because I thought maybe after a few months I would try it again. After the 3 month freeze was over I waited a couple months and then went in to cancel my account because I only had one more month left in my contract. They told me that I had the option to do a buy out on my account for $60. This was not mentioned to me before and I would have gladly taken this option but I'm not going to blame them for that because it was probably in my contract that I signed when I first signed up. They informed me that I had my annual free of $40 coming up and then my last monthly payment of $20. So my options were to buy out my account of $60 or pay the next couple fees that totaled $64ish (after tax). I ended up doing the buy out option and was charged the $60 that day and was told that was the last fee I would pay. The next day I got charge the $40 annual fee. I called the gym and talked to one of the employees and he said he saw the mistake and would have a manager call me back. When the manager called back she was very short with me and said there was nothing I could do about it. I tried to explain that if I would have been told that I was going to be charged the annual fee I wouldn't have done the buy out because that means I ended up paying $100 to cancel my account instead of just waiting until my contract ended and paying $64. She said the best thing she could do for me was give me a free month at the gym. I am not the type of person to complain or ask to speak to a manager but I felt like I was taken advantage of when they took $40 out of my account for the annual fee AFTER I bought out my account and then when I tried to talk to a manager about it she didn't even care. I left a message on the Planet Fitness website but once I submitted it I got a message saying anything financial needed to be directed to my gym location so that didn't get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSecond update. This planet fitness has improved significantly. Plus two stars, total four stars after today's workout. Quick rundown, the staff is friendly! Jasmine quickly and easily help me get the hydro massage! That's what I come for, remember? The whole place was clean. The showers were clean. The TV I used worked great. The shower pressure was low. There was a musty smell in the shower room. Room for improvement! Thank you to the owners for doing better. I recommend this planet fitness for your workout! I am happy to keep coming here. I hope to see it improve to excellent. Thank you to everyone who voted this review as helpful. I hope this last update is even more helpful! First update. Thank you, planet fitness owner. Plus one star ā for a quick response. You asked if I shared with the facility manager. I asked the attendant how I could share my comments with management. She told me that she had put it ticket in for the lack of CNN channel and lack of volume on the other CNN channel. The answer is no, I do not know how to share a comment with management. I will be happy to and of course I will update my review at that time. Manny Today's experience was less then stellar. I usually leave five stars for everything I rate. Please see my notes There was no CNN on the main bank of TVs. The volume did not work on the secondary bank of TVs. Minus 1 star. This is important to me. I got little, very little help from the staff. She wouldn't even agree to report the TV problem. Her point was that Somebody else comes to set up the TVs. After she didn't answer my question as to whether she would report it, I asked directly. Will you report it or not? She agreed to report it. Minus 0 points anyone can have a bad day or a bad attitude so what! It was very difficult to sign up for the hydro massage. I had to scan my card five times, she asked me to keep it out cuz I had to scan it again. She asked multiple times if I had a black card, clearly I did since I was able to sign in. š , I usually get great service. Today, not so much. Maybe next time. Minus one point on the difficulty hitting a hydro massage. That is also important to me. The massage chairs were off limits. Some equipment not working meh, report it. Lots of equipment not working combined with marginal service and an overall poor experience equals minus three points total. I hope someone...
