Extreme Hobby Shop — Attraction in Spring Hill

This review is as honest as I can be. And I really hope the guys at extreme hobby shop will appreciate my honest review and possibly make some changes.

Firstly, everyone that works there is awesome. Great guys, who will give you their time of day to figure out your needs and troubleshoot any issues you are having. As far as customer service and hospitality goes, I give these guys 5 stars.

Now here's what really frustrates me... Their stock. This shop is right down the road from me so I always call and see if they have a part that I need before I call anyone else. 9 times out of 10 they don't have the part I need. I have Traxxas vehicles and horizon hobby planes so it's not like I'm looking for parts that are hard to find. I always end up going to family hobbies out in Smyrna because 9 times out of 10 they DO have the part I need. I've spent so much money at family hobbies that I would've spent at extreme hobby shop if they had what I needed in stock.

Second thing (this frustrates me the most)... They don't sell anything used. 90 percent of all the planes I buy are used. And anyone else that is really into the radio control hobby has most likely bought a large majority of their stuff used. I'll go into family hobbies just to see what used stock they have, and most of the time when I don't find something used, I still end up spending my money on something.

I really love to support small businesses (especially in the city I live in) but recently it's gotten to where I don't even give extreme hobbies the chance anymore because odds are, they don't have what I need or they say they can order it, which I can also do myself online. When people break something, they want it as soon as possible so they can get back out in the field and keep having fun with their vehicles, so waiting is usually my very last option.

I give this review with love, because I really like the location, the people, and the atmosphere of the store, but that's about it. And if some changes are made, I'd be more than happy to change this to a 5...

At the age of 8, I developed a fascination with RC Cars, specifically nitro cars. 22 years later, I have the money and a son to share the hobby with me. I came into Matt’s shop with a pretty low budget, and he steered me in the right direction for our first car. We spent about an hour together before I made a purchase that probably didn’t influence his bottom line very much. At no point did I feel dismissed or like I didn’t belong, which is what I expected.

Matt definitely knows what he’s talking about, and you can tell that he cares about the spirit of the hobby scene. Keep it local. What a discovery right here in Spring Hill! Extreme Hobby Shop on Main Street. For Christmas, I ordered several larger , faster remote control 4x4 trucks for our grandchildren from Amazon. Then after thinking about buying local, I Googled Remote Control stores and Boom! Extreme Hobby!! Their price for the truck was the same as Amazon!! We bought another remote control truck from Extreme Hobby yesterday.
