pretty fun for all ages but I have a couple of complaints. 1st: the (girls) lifeguards are way too busy socializing with the other (boys) lifeguards and not paying too much attention or too busy doing other things besides "their jobs!!!" the blonde (girl lifeguard) was too busy yapping with a boy (lifeguard) when we were there @ the top of the slides. kids were ending up waiting for a couple of minutes to go for her to even tell them to do anything and the adults just knew better and went after one person has gone. Sure parents are there to watch their kids, but certain places parents count on the "lifeguards" to make sure their kids are safe and where they should be. Other wise, why else should they be there or needed???
2nd: Instead of talking to the parents, the lifeguards tell the kids "off!?!?!?" my son had swimsuit undies under his swim shorts, and I DON'T WHY THE HELL THE GIRL LIFEGUARD WAS LOOKING IN MY SON'S SHORTS, but she told him, "he couldn't swim with undies on under his shorts!!!" I was livid!!! since my son came down CRYING from wanting the slide. When I went to complain, they've already got answers for me not even knowing what had happened, only what the lifeguard had called in happened. She assumed it was "cotton" undies and so that's what the one BOY lifeguard told me all about not being able to swim with "cotton undies" under their swim shorts coz it messes up whatever stuff in the water so it contaminates it and, blahhh blahhh blahhh because he also ASSUMED (and he also told me himself that's what he assumed) my son was wearing cotton undies. So I asked him if he wanted to have my son take off his undies so that they can see it for themselves. He told me that for that day my son can swim, but if we were to go back there to swim, just so we know from this incident that my son can not wear cotton undies or undies under their swim suits. I was thinking who are these kids to tell me what my kid can and can't wear? sure, no cotton undies, but no undies under their swim shorts??? Oh please!!! And since the GIRL lifeguard was so busy looking in my son's shorts that she knew "exactly" what he was wearing? I should've called the cops to charge her for "being a pervert" or sexual harassment??? it was totally uncalled for to make kids cry like that! she should've asked where his parents were and talked to them instead of telling him off the way she did!!! after that, so many other ADULT were wearing COTTON shorts!!! but I didn't see a single lifeguard tell them off!!! No we're not going back!!! The lifeguards are rude!!! They think they're someone u have to OBEY like you're in jail and you're an inmate. My bro's a Correctional Officer and that's exactly what he does, tell people off younger, even older than him. Not a cool feeling but if you're locked up I guess u don't have any choice but take orders from CO's even if they were younger than u! A place like where you're suppose to have fun IS NOT THAT PLACE!!! That's our experience. No one has to listen or read from...
Read moreI love a well maintained 50m x 25 yd(m?) indoor pool like the Desert Breeze pool! Perfect temperature for me (for swimming freestyle, back, breast and fly)--I don't overheat and I don't shiver even after an hour. I do dry land warmup in the locker room while still dry because brisk ventilation in the pool area brings me almost to shivering after the obligatory pre-swim shower. The pool has a high deck relative to the water level--maybe 12-15 inches. Avoid the struggle to exit the pool after a hard swim by using the ladders at the pool corners or at the center. The center section is often used for water aerobics. An extension from that center section has shallower water for other water exercise classes. I go late mornings usually--it is only crowded on Saturday. Evenings and late afternoons can be busy with teams and meets, but even so I've been able to score a lane. Closed Sundays and holidays.
The water is super clear! Lighting over the water is adequate, but really bright as you backstroke to the walls.
FEE: Adults 18-55 $3, Over 55 $1. Rates also for a month to a year.
Clean locker rooms. Courteous staff.
FYI. the pool facility has a separate entrance from the rest of the building, twenty to thirty yards to the right of the grander main entrance.
Before going, check the website. See Google for hours and a bar graph of attendance during open hours. Periodically, the pool closes for...
Read moreFinding this place was gold, glad today the slides are open again. The facility is very clean and well maintained. Seating is plentiful. You may bring your own cooler, and food inside, which is such a plus.
Staff is normally very helpful and delightful, especially the office manager, except today's incident. I had gotten our bracelets and walked away, my son came crying and here I am oblivious to what was going on. I walked back in and explained to staff that my son had walked away without getting his bracelet (my kids are all on the spectrum, so im sure he misunderstood something). Young lady behind the glass stated I had yelled at her. Ma'am I wasn't even inside when you stated this happened 😅. Fictional Customer Service. I understand the staff is young, however they need to be trained a smidge better on customer relations. This is not how I wished to start my day with my 4 boys. The show will go on.
All else is amazing here and we plan to enjoy this day. I shall follow up with an update later....
