I hesitated to send this but I just have to. I donât know who the therapist was because this is the second time Iâve been there where I asked for a specific therapist and thatâs not who I got.. both times I asked for males and got a female, without telling me that they canât accommodate my request.
Anyway, there were two specific problem areas. My right shoulder pain starts at the shoulder blade and goes into/wraps around to right under my neck and collar bone. I told her that, and she focused a lot on the shoulder blade but worked on me almost exclusively on my stomach, so she did not do the typical move when rubbing shoulders, where I lay on my back and she rubs her knuckles back and forth in that area. That area just hurts worst now, is still more visibly swollen than the other side of my body, and I get it worked out a lot and thatâs never happened.
Another big issue-oil. She put oil in her hands only three times for the entire 90-minute massage. When she was doing my âfoot massageâ which Iâll explain below, she ended up just building up dead skin because she wasnât using hardly any lubrication and was chaffing my skin and rubbing THAT around instead of applying oil. Most of the massage was dry and without the oil was just painful skin ripping. Think Indian burns.. remember those? :(
The foot massage was where I really lost it and finally just started playing on my phone and was so done because my other problem area is the arch of my right foot and the ball of my heel and Iâve never EVER experienced something like this but I showed her, twice, where it hurt the most and needed help, and MAJORITY OF THE MASSAGE WAS THE TOP OF MY FOOT RUBBING THE BONES OF MY TOES. She never touched the arches or went any further down like to my heel. And then I reminded her again where it hurt, the arch and bottom of my heel, and she still wouldnât massage it. I just was so over it at that point. FYI for those whoâve not experienced in, massaging the bones of your toes on the fit of your foot is straight painful. And again, remember the Indian burns from above. This is the most bizarre massage experience Iâve ever had. Her phone was lying on the bed next to her and she was looking at it the entire time, so I suspect there was like a show or something on and she just wouldnât realize what she was doing. I donât know. Also took very little care to make sure I wasnât exposed. I was, quite a few times, with the curtain half open. Just nuts you guys đ
Right under the feedback box on their website it says, âWith over 35 Nevada-licensed male and female therapists to choose from, we are committed to matching you with the right professional to meet your needs. If a particular session doesnât meet your expectations, we encourage you to try a different therapist next time to ensure the perfect fit.â but you keep denying me who Iâm choosing. If someone requests a male and that male isnât present, suggest a different male. Tell the customer they arenât available. Donât just send them in with someone youâve chosen out of convenience. I canât go back again, and I cannot recommend it as you do not get to choose who massages you and I canât guarantee I wonât get her again. She needs guidance on lubrication and where to massage and how to listen to what weâre saying because I promise, some of us are communicative throughout the process and will let you know what we need. To look me in my face and say okay over and over and over and then purposefully not do what Iâm asking is just awful.
The spa was better this time as there was no trash left from the day before (I do the first appts. In the morning) and the first time I went, face mask and shampoo and conditioner wrappers remained in the showers. They donât clean them between people clearly, but my assumption is that first thing in the morning Iâve got my best shot! Again, massage chair waiting room was bizarre as well as those massage chairs didnât work lol.

Read moreThe massage was amazing! However, the service aside from the massage was not great ): I went to the sauna and everything, nobody checked on me whatsoever. I called to get out and go to a massage room, I ended up having to call the front desk, and they told me to wait. I waited in the sauna area for about 30-40 minutes and STILL nobody came to check or anything. I ended up calling again for the second time, and they still told me to wait. I called a third time as well and told front desk that I canât stay any longer in the sauna, so they told me they âhad no peopleâ at the moment and to wait again. I waited for another 15-20 minutes or so and had to tell them Iâm heading out to some room because I cannot sit on the wooden bench in there for a long period of time. I headed out and waited again on some bed in an empty room for another 20 minutes, again nobody checked on me or my guest I brought with me, and when I called once more the phone like said the office was closed?
I had to walk to the front desk this time and they told me they were understaffed and I had to wait, again. I didnât walk in either, I had made an appointment at 7 PM for the sauna and the massage. If they didnât have enough people working, then they shouldnât have let me make the appointment in the first place and told me come later. We got in around 7:30 and started with the sauna, and then the massage started around 9:10, and we got out at around 10:10.
At the very least SOMEONE could have come to the sauna area (like a bathroom with sauna and shower, tile all around, not really much of a waiting area either.) and could have said âhey weâre all busy at the moment, let me take you to some waiting area of some sort instead of waiting in here.â But nobody even checked in on us.
Mary and Amy were our Massage Therapists and they did a wonderful job! However, the other staff never came to check on us. Even if they were understaffed, the very least they could do in between was to just quickly let us know like âhey weâre currently all occupied,â or something. Even then, we made an appointment and didnât walk in, a on one should have been there, but still, at the very least a small warning or heads up would be much...

I did not read the reviews bc I was given 2- $20 gift certificates from a friend.
Coming in, I was immediately overwhelmed by the strongarming of upsells and then saying I could only use one certificate per visit. Knowing I would never be back after looking at their prices and after their exhausting behavior, I started to walk out and then they said OK... they'll take both as long as I bought the CBD oil up charge (they didn't even pass the info- I had to tell the therapist).
A 1 hour "partial" massage with $12 CBD oil and $40 in gift certificates still cost me $40 (up front) not including tip. After an hour of a mediocre massage, they said they were done, and I asked why the feet were not included... they said if I wanted a whole massage, I would have to pay for another half hour.
On my way out of the room before I could even get to the desk, the massage guy said I owed him $20 minimum. I told him I didn't even get a full massage and my feet still hurt... so I gave him a $20 and asked for a $5 back. He started to complain but then I cut him off and said I know what you're doing and you're not doing it to me... he said ok fine I won't say anymore. I spoke Mandarin with him the whole time so I can't imagine others who get this treatment without being able to communicate with them.
It is important to read reviews these days before you go to any establishment and spend your hard earned money... especially if the goal is to enjoy something and relax. There's more disturbing things that happened here but I wanted to keep this as short as possible.
A few places where the owners and therapists are kind and good, are Happy Foot Spa on Durango, Five Star Good Foot Spa on Ft Apache, and Ocean Reflexology...
